Hi everyone!

So I'm currently resting up in hospital trying to sip on fluids and hoping to go for a walk because the gas pain is awful but I'm trying to work through it. I just want to thank you all for the kind words and well wishes yesterday. I'm really glad for all the support on this site!

It will get better, I promise! Go very slow, and when they tell you it is okay, begin taking GasX strips which will help with the gas pain which can be quite intense for a while after surgery. Walking is good, when you are able, and will help with the gas pain but do not push yourself too hard. Stay safe and get plenty of rest and fluid. Best of luck on the rest of your journey. Wishing you a speedy recovery. (:

Katie:  Glad to see you are getting up and around.  Remember, regarding the gas "this too shall pass" no pun intented (well, maybe I did enjoy the pun-ability of it, to be truthful).

I hope the rest of your day goes well.  Take care!

You will do great.  The more walking you can do at this point, the better.  The gas will flow...hehe.  I had amazing nurses at HRRH...hopefully you get the ones I had!   We must have just missed each other.  I was discharged yesterday shortly after lunch.
