Of course I will include you.  Now I just have to see when I will be in Mississauga instead of smack dab right downtown Toronto.

Tristan I feel your pain.  I loved my Opti though.  I loved to use my immersion blender on it with a whole tray of icecubes and about a cup of water.  It came out the consistancy of a frostie, was really yummy and really helped my need to eat something with a spoon now and then lol.   You might have mood swings and hunger pains but try to focus on the end result.  This really will make it easier for you after surgery too because you'll be used to having less food by then!

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with the optifast. I was one of the odd ones who actually liked them (while the chocolate ones at least), but I hope it gets better for you. The best advice I read about Optifast was to time it out so that the hunger isn't as bad. I had a shake at 8am, 12pm, 4pm and 8pm and had my veggies (I had 1 cup of iceberg lettuce, 1/2 cup of thinly sliced cucumbers, and 1/2 cup of thinly sliced green peppers [thinly slicing them made it look like more in the bowl which helped me a lot because I felt less deprived with having a big bowl] with a bit of balsamic vinegar on top [my clinic okayed this but make sure yours does]) when my family had dinner. The second best advice was buying a shaker bottle (mine was from GNC), it has a little wire whisk in the bottom and when you shake it, it crushes any ice in the cup and mixes the powder without making it foamy like I found the blender did. Try as many different ways you can until you find a way you like. My favourite was plain chocolate with 500 mls of ice cold water and vanilla with banana extract and SF vanilla syrup and 500 mls of ice cold water and a couple of ice cubes.

I hope that helps and it gets better for you!

I never thought it would be that easy. I loved my Optifast. Wait untill you have to have protein shakes post-op. I hate those.

You should let your clinic know about the antibiotics now.  I remember someone's surgery had to be postponed due to taking some meds.  Forget if it was antibiotics or something else but I'd check now just to make sure it won't interfere with surgery.
