Hey all,
I am looking for any recommendations on what is the best thing to purchase that will not only puree foods and more. Would you recommend a food processor or a blender. Does anyone have a recommendation as to what brand to buy? Also any recommendations on protein shakes??

I have heard (although I dont have one) the magic bullets are very good for liquids or solids...

I can't live without my Immersion blender lol.  We used the magic bullet for a while, but it broke because it couldn't handle the icecubes.

I'm not pot op but when I make purée soups or smoothies I find the immersion blender is really good for this. Clean up is also simple. Just need to clean the blade and receptical or pot that I made the soup in.easy for me!

Costco has a black and decker 3 part package:   food processor (large) for soups , small for little chops, and glass blender that works well at chopping ice for smoothies.  I has has 2 blades that attach to shred, slice etc.  It lived through preop soup making/optifast/post op protein drinks I love it.  Can't beat the price 80 dollars.

Will take a kayaking trip summer 2012, freedom

I've been very happy with my Magic Bullet for about 3-4 years.

I use it for lots of things, including hummus, pesto and, of course, Optifast shakes with large ice cubes.  Never had a problem yet; however, I never run it for more than 10 seconds. Then I either shake or stir the contents and blend again as needed.  Best $30 I've spend on kitchen ware! In fact, if I can find it on sale for that price again, I'll get another one so I can leave it at work.

Im like Sharron above me.  I used my magic bullet but I don't run it for longer then 10 sec then I shake the ice down to the bottom again and another 10 sec ect.  Works great for the price.

yeah and stuck there at the moment, oh well eventually the scale will have to move.
Surgeons goal for me is 175 and if I got to that it would be the first time in 20 yrs but my goal is a bit lower.

I have a blender with ice crushing ability at home, and a (no name brand) Magic Bullet at work.  You need to be careful of the ice cubes cracking the plastic containers on the MB, so usually just use really cold milk and put the ice into it afterwards (like a pop).  I also use both to crush frozen strawberries to add to my protein drink (I use milk and powder) instead of crushing ice cubes - cold and flavour in one!
