Pepperettes??

 well given that its a solid food you should probably give that one a wide birth.  6ish months id say.

im a year out and still have issues with pepperettes.

then again my stomach can be a douchebag....

But... I had surgery October 17.. and I can eat them...  chew slowly and take small bites..  they have about 8 g of protein.. so sometimes I have as snack...  easy and portable...

I wouldn't try them till 8 weeks out.
Chew very well though.
You might enjoy the turkey pepperoni slices. They are thin, a little less to work thru in terms of chewing.

I think I had my first one at about 8 weeks - definitely well after full solids were settled into the program.  I started with beef ones, then switched to turkey.  But after a while, I couldn't stand the taste anymore.  I'd rather have 30g of cheese (7g protein) than a pepperette these days.

I eat them and I'm 4 months out. I think I had my first one at about 3 1/2 months and the only reason I waited is because you have to buy such a big bag of turkey pepperettes (you can't just buy one to taste). I bought the president's choice ones from Fortinos, they taste just like regular pepperettes. I do find while easy to chew and swallow, they sit heavy and I have to take good breaks between bites otherwise I get foamies. I usually have one pepperette with 2 oz of cheese and a couple of crackers as a quick lunch if I'm on the run and alternate bite of pepperette with two bites of cheese to give my stomach time to take in the denser protein. I really like the taste of the sliced turkey pepperoni and use that on my pizzas. They are easier to eat but don't give much protein (4g per 10 slices). Perhaps try those first. I did because they were cheaper and I figured I could get an idea for the taste of the pepperette based on the taste of the slices. This being said, make sure you follow your clinics rules. My clinic didn't say anything specific about pepperoni, I just make sure that it fits in the fat/sugar rules I was given for nutritional information. Hope this helps.

i dont think i had them till i was about 6 months out, but just because i coudlnt find the turkey ones. mmmmm yummy. But wait a bit, Manda. be safe, and chew well.

I agree - major foamies if you don't go slow - they're quite dense.

I'd like to recommend a different brand from the Loblaws/Fortino's/Zehr's/No Frills packages of Turkey Bites.

LEAN TURKEY PEPPERETTES
I buy them from Cosmo's Smoked Meats - so much tastier than the other version.
Large package, and not cheap - but TOTALLY worth it.

i used to find them at local markets (done that 3 times) but now with the cold season coming on I'm going to purchase them online. Mind you I only buy one package every 3 months, so by the time spring rolls around again, I can go try them at one of the Farmer's Markets again!

The Cosmos pepperettes are soooo good! I recently discovered their products at a foodie fair, it's good stuff!
