The splenda brown sugar I see in the grocery store, is a mix of splenda & brown sugar. Is this okay to use?
If you are a dumper, does it make you dump?

Or is there a all splenda brown sugar substitute? Available in Canada?

Thanks for any info.

I use a small amount of this on my oatmeal. I am not a dumper so it doesn't bother me.

I'm not (touch wood) a dumper, so can't asnwer that, but I remember looking for brown sugar substitute  that wasn't mixed and never found any.  I'm not a baker, so didn't really bother me too much - i wanted it for my oatmeal.

Good luck.

The recommendation I got from an avid baker was to check out the Low Carb Grocery and look for the Whey Low Brown Sugar substitute.

Apparently it acts and tastes exactly like brown sugar. I havent tried it myself but I have it from a credible source!

i used this in banana muffins and it made me feel terrible. I can't take it in such large quantities, added 3/4 of cup as called for, the next time i made them i used 1/2 a cup and apple sauce and still made me feel sick.

i can use a bit in glazed carrots or other dishes but will be looking for another source for my baking.

and i'm not a dumper, just makes me feel pukey.

I use sugar twin brown sugar. It's an all sweetener substitute, so no sugar at all. It doesn't look like the real thing, but it tastes like it if mixed into something else, like flavoured teas or baking. I like it. If you are looking to eat it more in a non-baked version, because the texture is different, but in baking fits the same purpose as brown sugar, you can mix maple syrup with splenda to create brwon sugar. You can buy sugar free maple syrup at the Low Carb Grocery or in the diabetic section of the pharmacies at places like Zellers and Walmart. It's realtively inexpensive and comparable to the price of regular syrup. I hope this helps.

Splenda brown sugar is a mixture of 1/2 splenda and 1/2 REGULAR brown sugar.
You can save money by just mixing them up at home.

Some people can have issues with it, so try it a little at a time to see how you are
with it.

Hotmom...I use it all of the time...you have to remember that if a recipe calls for e.g. 1 cup of brown sugar, you would use only half of that, and I never pack it!!  good luck...Patti K.

Hi -

I like and use Splenda Brown Sugar all the time, and I'm a dumper.

I just use half of what I would normally use, and I'm fine.

Sugar Twin is brown substitute - with aspartame.
The Splenda brown sugar is like the others said, half/half. I'm ok with a bit in my oatmeal and yogurt. I think there is a now a PC version as well.
