Shopping
I am a clothes horse--so is my husband. We love to shop and buy new clothing. In May I decided to stop buying clothes until every piece of a certain type of clothing is too big, (ie. no new jeans until every pair I own is falling off.)
I wasn't sure I could stick to it but here I am in Dec and I have bought nothing new. It is actually kind of freeing to not "need" new stuff all the time.I had no idea how much time and money I was spending on the wardrobe. A bit of a bonus is that a woman in the office down the hall lost about 100 lbs in the last 8 months--"diet and hard work" so she gave me a couple of tops and tees--so it felt like new stuff.
The social worker and I spent a few minutes talking about behaviours that sometimes take the place of eating after WLS. I may have to keep an eye out for the old shopping habit to resurface.

I talked myself out of buying something for our holiday dinner at work. Makes no sense to spend $100 for something I'll wear only once and then have to give away. I'll jazz up a black blouse with some jewelry, throw on some makeup and I'm off to the races. I decided I'll make do this winter and my next big buy will be spring/summer.
I've become a Value Village junkie. You'd be amazed at the awesome, brand name, new stuff you can get there for $10.

Well as some of you may know from my previous thread I gave in and shopped the other day. Up till now I have been hitting V V for clothes which is great.
In old Navy however I hit the clearance rack and got a jacket, jeans, 2 tops, a sweater, and for my son a dress shirt and 2 t-shirts all for $42.
Dress pants from Rikki's were on clearance for $12
I did over spend on underwear from Le Senza however
I will have to be careful as its very tempting and as we know we won't get alot of wear out of what we buy.

I took advantage of that wagjag deal at the VV in Barrie. I got three $15 vouchers for $7.50 each. I am going to Barrie on Monday and plan on buying at least one pair of pants and one top in the next two sizes, 20 and 18. Thanks to my mom I have lots of 22s (that's the size she wears and she also bought me some new stuff on sale).
I got a cute winter coat on clearance at Walmart. It was $50 on for $30. I tried on the 2x (the biggest size they had) about a month ago and it was too tight, but I bought it anyway. I wore it for the first time yesterday and it fits!!
No "new" clothes for me unless I see a really awesome clearance rack!
Also, for each new thing I get (VV or hand me down) I get rid of at least one thing from my closet...to avoid hanging on to things that don't fit.
