Pain and soreness during pre op liquid diet
Hmmm - sounds like your liver is actively de-fatting.
While I was on OptiFast, I shed enormous amounts of fat (my sweat and my pee smelled funny) so my liver was a little sore.
You've also got a gallbladder dealing with all that fat and the toxins the liver is shedding - it's probably annoyed at you too. (Located between liver and stomach along the bottom of the ribs.)
If you reach down and around the right lower edge of your ribs, you should NOT feel anything.
If you can feel anything puffy or sausage-y, that's your fatty liver.
Normal people can't feel anything there - but most of us can - pre-op of course.

Another thought could be pressure from the weight loss on your abdomen.
When I lost 30lbs on Atkins I noticed as my "Apron" deflated it caused pulling on my upper abdomen which was uncomfortable.
Just a thought...
