I just had my surgery on Jan 20th and I am 57. I do not consider myself old but I must admit I noticed that the majority of WLS patients are 30-40 years old which is when I wished I had the surgery. Never too late!!!

I was/still am 39 when I had surgery.

A woman in my bariatric class was in her 70s. She looked like she was in her 50s! Great skin. The doctors had no qualms about doing the surgery. She said she went to the US first - was gonna self pay to avoid the waiting but the doctor refused due to her age.

Well, you aren't the oldest. I am 62 and just had my surgery 6 weeks ago.

you are such an awesome group!

I am so happy I decided to have surgery... I see this as my 60th Birthday gift to myself... 2012 is my year... I told my children, granddaughter and hubby that 2012 is all about ME!

This grannie is going to rock her RNY & then retirement, well that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
