from bras to bathing suits....

So after the bra post.....which was great by the way.....I am still doing OK but can see how the loose skin thing will be become a problem very soon....

speaking of which...

bathing suits.

GAH!!!!

At Pennington's or Addition-Elle.....you just buy the least ugly one that fits for the most part and they are pretty much all the same style....either the black one piece with slight variations in the strap to make your look vary from Italian Widow to dominatrix.....or the tankini that always made me look like someone had turned a portobello mushroom upside down....or the dreaded swim-skirt.....which everyone knows is really not hiding anything.....

But NOW......WTF do I do??

I need to hide the meat apron that I have started and I need some serious support for the girls....but now the styles are so varied and so many colours!!! Its like shopping for bathing suits at this size suddenly turned into an acid trip!!!
And everything is a bikini!!!!

What styles are "in".....but that won't make me look like (as Janet puts it) a shar pei wrapped in a bandage????

Any ideas??

You are hilarious! I went looking for one this week. Finally gave up. It's a lot of work tucking in all the skin each time you try one on. It was exhausting. Wish I knew more about fashion and sewing, I could be rich.

That is a very accurate portrayl of what bathingsuit shopping feels like.  hahaha

I bought 2 at Costco this year.  I think they were $24 each.  They were Speedo and come in sizes up to 18 (not sure where you are in your journey), and they are awesome.  They aren't sporty like you'd think from speedo, they have an empire waist with a bit of rouching (sp?) across the tummy which does an excellent job of hiding stuff.  They also come up high in the back, which I like because I still have a lot of skin back there.  The chest is nice- a deep v, with a halter.  Sexy, but makes the boobs feel safe and sound (no danger of falling out :)

Sirene, have you been to Forbie's (on Churchill, just north of Richmond Rd)?  They do custom made bathing suits at a fairly reasonable price.  They'll help you to find a style that suits you and will do whatever it takes to put in added tummy control and support for the girls.  You also get to choose your own fabric (design, chlorine-resistant, etc.).  It's pretty awesome....

BTW, you look fabulous in your new pic!

Thanks Karen!
Forbie's has been suggested, thanks. I have never been so I may have to check it out. The only problem with custom made this year is that I think I wont be in it for very long....I am currently between a 16 and 14, heading to a 12. My only jeans right now are a pair of lycra "skinny" jeans that I can wear for about an hour right out of the dryer..but after that...I have saggy butt syndrome and have to tighten my belt up to 3 times a day!

not that I am complaining.....just still amazed and mostly in disbelief....

MEC has board shorts for swimming and I bought a pair online before leaving for Nicaragua because I am very conscious of my saggy leg problems. This is great because it hides a multitude of sins. These were a little tight when I left but now they are just perfect after being here a month. I'm so glad to have lost while here. It ended a probably 10 month stall. Even if I was below the goal from the clinic. I might see my next goal after all, 140, and a normal BMI!

I wear board shorts and a tankini top. I am self conscious of my arms, but moreso of my thighs and the board shorts help to cover these!

Hi, I also got 2 at Costco, one the speedo and the other a Christina, and they are wonderful, and both under $25 each. With Costco you can take them home to try on, unlike anywhere else, which is so much better and comfortable.
