A bit late - Surgiversary with Pics!
Hey Everyone,
I found these progress updates helpful in my own journey (especially before surgery to get a good picture of what to expect) so here's mine. I celebrated my year surgiversary on July 15th and was planning to post then, but life got busy and you know... anyways, here it is!
I'm very pleased with my RNY! It's taking some adaptions in my lifestyle but they are all for the good. I've been playing with my food and recipes, keeping my eating interesting but healthy and on track with what my dietitian suggests.
Some things I love about my RNY?
I'm off my high blood pressure meds and although I haven't been retested, am pretty safe to assume my sleep apnea is gone as it was very mild to begin with and my neck is significantly smaller.
I not on a diet. I just eat. But it happens that it's in small portions with healthier and cleaner ingredients that are satisfying for me.
I can move and have freedom in my activities that weren't afforded the smaller me.
I can SHOP! Well, I always could shop (I am female so you know shopping is in one of the chromosones of our genetic make up...Google it! LOL
) but I can shop in any store in the mall now and I can find things that are more suited to my personality now that I have so many options.
Here are my progress pictures so far. I took these last month but I'm pretty well the same, I have about 10 pounds to goal but I know that last little bit takes the longest. The before is about a week before I started Optifast.

Sam1am you made my day! Thanks for the compliment!
I don't know if it's exactly 10 pounds, I just figure it's right in the middle of a normal bmi so provides some wiggle room. I still want to loose a bit off my tummy but I don't know if that'll translate into another 5 pounds or 10 or what exactly...
