I still haven`t learned these lessons.
Especially since mushy chicken breast is DRY DRY DRY.
Vomiting is a great wake up call / Negative re-inforcer.
I had to give up meat for 6 months but I am much better without it.

yup no liquids for a t least a 1/2 hr to an hour (depending on each person)
many of us post-ops have had teh foamies...and most have learned from the error of their ways.
I am almost 4 years post op...and continue NOT to drink before or during my meals
your main concentration should ALWAYS be the protein on your plate...I have on occasion had a bowl of soup before my meal or a light beer while waiting for my dinner (at a slow resturaunt)...but I sip very little and am fortunate if I get to finish 1/2 of it befor the meal comes
remember also that most bites should be chewed at least 25 times before swallowing and you are correct when we are rushed or get distracted, we lose focus.
prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.
