Hey this sounds like fun... count me in!
The first two weeks of October, I will be way up north and have nothing to do while hubby is hunting & fishing... so can walk all day long... there, now I have something to do... better get my music ready, let's pray it does not snow, cause if it does this princess will be inside by the fire... LOL.
Not sure how it will all work hopefully we can do it in teams as if I had to count my milage on my own I may be dead before I get across Canada... LOL!
Enjoy your day everyone!

It is great to have a challenge like this. I did 3553k in seven months last year, it was the distance between my home and my mission trip to Nicaragua. That distance was as the crow flies, not a road distance.
So when you chose your distance you can chose the shorter distance or the TransCanada Highway.
Maybe figure out each province distance you want and then there are smaller goals that will have been acheived. Of course Ontario would be the biggest challenge, but it is a good thing the hills of Northern Ontario are not necessarily part of the challenge.
I would like to be part of the challenge as I need more motivation to get to my half marathon distance for running right now and perhaps that will get me to the marathon distance too.
I like challenges like this because I do not actually have to run a race. I get very anxious over things like that.

If we were to use the Trans-Canada Trail as our "path", (see www.tctrail.ca for details) it would be 23,000 kms.
Second-largest country in the world, girls!
Semi-crazy challenge, indeed ...

says it is 7529k between St. John's NF to Vancouver BC on the road
5107k as the crow flies
So there is a hint as to the distance we could be aiming for.

Sure, i'm in. Does a pedometer work for all sorts of activities? I would use it in spinning to figure out my kms.
Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
