Almost time to say goodbye to my red dress
RNY on 05/02/12
My red dress is almost too big. Hoping to fit into my zip up leather boots before I send it to a new home. The picture on the left was June 10th of 2012 (surgery was May 2nd) and the second pic is September 7th. It's a difference of at least 50lbs. The flourescent lights make me look very pale in the second pic. I'm not that bad. I have 33lbs to go to get to the dietician goal. My own goal is of course lower. I went from a size 24-3xl to a 16/18 and large.

Thanks, I have one in black too that I dress up with a red scarf under the bust. It's the same neckline and clinging fabric. I can roll it into a ball and then just shake it out when I get to my destination and it's good to go...

Congratulations! How do you feel about letting the dress go? You have done awesome!
I have a couple outfits that are sitting in my closet because I spent a lot of money on them and would really like them to go to someone who would appreciate them. One an outfit I never got to wear because my daughter chose not to marry and it was the "mother of the bride" outfit I had made. When she did get married I was even bigger so I could not wear it.

It's bitter sweet, a lot of good memories, but pretty darn sweet to have to give it up because it's too big.
It's hard to let go. Some things came off the hanger to go in the rubbermaid, then I put them back on the hanger. The final goodbye will be the yardsale at the end to buy a new wardrobe.
In the old days of weight loss followed by rapid gain they would go in the rubbermaid for a few months, then come back. It will be strange when they go for good.

You look beautiful and I'm sure it will be hard to give up such a lovely dress but just think, it gives you the chance to find another red dress to wear the heck out of!
In case it might be of interest, have you heard of the Travelling Red Dress Project? (http://www.forbes.com/sites/jenniferleggio/2012/01/09/travel ing-red-dress-movement-proves-social-media-foundation-is-sti ll-people-empowerment/)
There is actually a Facebook page for it as well if you would like to send your red dress out through the network: https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/The-Traveling-Red-Dress/15 0889871693313 and you should definitely post a picture there of you in your new red dress when you find it to celebrate your success. Congratulations and looking forward to seeing the next dress!
