Is this the dreaded "foamies"?
Yeah, I made a nice yogurt lemon pepper dill dip - it was delicious! I think I just took too big a bite. Oh well! Lesson learned, and at least it didn't go on for hours like it did for Marny!

Ugh, sorry to hear that you went through this! I had something similar over the weekend - it was with deli meat roll-ups which I had eaten previously, but I was hungry so took a larger bite than I should have. The slimy/foamy stuff is gross!
The easiest fish for me to tolerate right now is Tilapia - I can have Salmon too, but find that Tilapia digests better. I haven't tried Halibut yet.
Hope you're feeling okay today!

Actually, I'm 18 months post-op, and I have this regularly.
In my case, it seems to be a "bit" stuck at the stoma. And my first clue is a pressure, accompanied by increased salivation.
In the beginning, I absentmindedly swallowed the saliva and kept on truckin', thinking it would eventually work its way through, but no - the key was spitting spitting spitting, and retching until the offending "stuck bit" came back out.
After ten minutes of the shakes and wobblies, I am able to finish the rest of my portion - carefully.
It seems to happen every three-four days. And I call it the Foamies, though I'm not sure exactly what the definition is.
There is an upside to it though. Keeps me on the straight and narrow, portion-wise, at any rate - I'm so afraid of it happening (because it's so uncomfortable) that I'm really good in my portion sizes and speed of chewing.
Yep, that's the foamies alright. Terrible feeling, isn't it.

Karen - yes, it's awful! But I'm kind of glad it happened, strangely enough, just like I was happy when I realized that I can dump. As Gabygee says, it will keep me on the straight and narrow. I promise I won't take big bites at our lunch on Saturday! Heh.
And yes, Gabygee, that's exactly it - I didn't want to swallow the saliva, because then I thought that would be like swallowing liquids right after solids and that I'd start dumping on top of it all! :) Although part of me really wished I could wa**** down with a gulp of water!
Thanks Julia, I will try tilapia when I get the nerve up to try fish again. It was a dollar cheaper at the fish market, but I thought the white fish would be the flakiest and easiest to digest. I had three shrimp the other night and handled those really well, but I was taking super-tiny bites because I was nervous over a new food (and we had company, too - great time to try new stuff, I know). So maybe I'll make some shrimp tonight.
I didn't eat anything else for the rest of the night. Luckily, I had my 60g of protein in at that point. I just sipped water the rest of the night. But I ended up only having 475 calories yesterday as a result, which is always startling to see when you calculate your protein on MFP.

I had a case of the dreaded foamies myself, and i was just over 2 years out. I did a no no and ate one of DH's (then DF) Doritios, and a few minutes later I was feeling the pain, and then the saliva in the mouth, and gurgling, so since we were in the car, I had to have him pull over so I could puke, but instead of puking, it was foamies. I HATED that feeling!
