Owwww foamies

Just suffered through my first, and hopefully last, episode of foamies.  The culprit was a poached egg.  But it was a little too cooked and the yolk was drier than it should have been.

Pain, nausea and foamies.  lasted about 20 minutes but now I seem ok.  A little weak feeling and nauseated.

Advice to others: DON'T drink or sip water when having foamies.  Bad, bad idea.  Thankfully I was being careful and only took a tiny sip.  But it made things so much worse.

Ugh - terrible feeling, isn't it?  Eggs can be tricky post-op.  Eggs and I officially broke up for over 4 years post-op. I loved them, but they did not love me back.  We eventually reconciled and I'm thrilled.  lol

Poached eggs and I have been best buds up until today.  That was my go-to food.  Darn.

Ouch!  Poor you.  I do know the feeling - poached eggs work for me when I add some salsa to them.  However, deli meat does not, no matter how much I moisten it up with mustard/spreadable cheese.  I may have to "break up" with it like Karen did with eggs!

I tried some deli ham and babybel cheese the other day with salsa and it was great!  Funny how we are all so different with what we can and can not tolerate.

I still can't eat SF jello, puddings etc.  The smell of watermelon made me sick and I am still forcing down the protein shakes.  All too sweet for me.  But savory and salty is great.

It is odd how different foods work/don't work for different people!  I know some have had issues with ground beef, chicken etc - those are find for me.  I may try deli ham instead of deli turkey, as I think turkey's one of the drier deli meats.

It sucks that you are forcing down the protein shakes - have you tried mixing the unflavoured powder in with your meals?  I find that I can hardly taste it when I put it in something savory/salty (i.e. soups, chili).

Ouchie!  I had my first bout last week (over fish) so I hear you!  Eggs work really well for me, but I have to take really tiny bites and chew well.

Hope you're feeling better, and that you and eggs can be friends at some point.

Ow, poor you.  I have tried crab, tuna and tilapia with good results.  But all of them I have used salsa or sauce.  Last night I used a dill sauce made with greek yogurt with some crab cakes and it was really good.  Tiny bites and chewed like crazy.

I hope eggs and I will be friends too.  That's my morning meal.

Where can you purchase papaya enzymes? I would like to purchase them so that I can be prepared just in case.

Thanks.
