Drinking with Meals...why do waitressing staff find it odd?
Mary, I'm with you...I'm 4 1/2 years out, and I never order a drink with my meal...I really think its just a social thing...if a waitress does bring me one, I just pass it over to my hubby...Patti K.
maybe it's because I life in the country and have well water which we have to conserve, then when I got to a restaraunt and they want to give me water I don't need or want.
I personally believe that each glass poured down the drain is wasting a resource.
by the way...the service was awesome, the food was awesome...
thanks everyone it's good to see how others handle it...

Thank you for posting this. I had the exact issue on the weekend. I was in Toronto for a meeting and had dinner with friends. Now I normally order a diet coke and try to drink it before my meal. This time I did and so the waitress kept coming back and asking if I wanted another drink. After the third time I said 'jus****er please.'
She was just doing her job and making sure i was happy since the three other people I was with all had drinks. I did not drink it at all but I figure its' water - i'ts not going to waste like if I had ordered another coke or something.
