- Bell peppers are very rich in vitamin C and vitamin A.
- One cup of raw, red bell peppers gives your body approximately 290 percent of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C and 105 percent of the RDA for vitamin A.
- Bell peppers have significant amounts of vitamin B 6
- They are a great source of dietary fiber.
- One bell pepper contains only 30 to 40 calories.
- Bell peppers are a great source of antioxidants.
- Red bell peppers contain lutein, a phytonutrient that benefits against macular degeneration.
- They are also a good source of lycopene which has been shown to lower the risk of prostate, bladder, cervical and pancreatic cancers.
- Bell peppers contain about 110 grams of water which is necessary for fat burning success.
- They are low in saturated fat, cholesterol, and sodium.
Dip them in some low fat hummus... Yummers!
I like Special K crackers / chips , you can get them where the rice crackers are sold, but they are made with potato flour, and are 20 for 80 calories (plain style).
