Optifast & sf jello - Guelph clinic
I don't think my messg. posted last time.
Anyways, surgery is March 5th in Guelph !! I see some discussion on the site about sf jello while on Optifast. My list showed the only other item was clear broth once a day. I would appreciate any feedback on this. Was anyone at Guelph advised they could have sf jello?
Thanks so much
I too am through Guelph on March 5th... while it didn't say it on the sheet, the nurse suggested it to me when I picked up my opti last week. I think I'll call next week...

I was wondering what happens if you breakdown and cheat? will they cancel your surgery? I am way far off the optifast part of the process. I imagine your body needs to be flushed right out. But really ? no food? 2 weeks? I cant do it now. Isnt this why we are having surgery, because we continue to fail at weightloss?
The Optifast diet is used to shrink your liver, to make surgery easier for the surgeon as it has to be moved to get at your surgery site. It is possible that they could refuse you or do the surgery laproscopically. An open surgery carries more risks and a longer healing time. You typically lose your appetite while on Optifast so its a little easier than you think. I was really worried about it too, but it was easier than expected. If you cheat, you are cheating yourself.
Best wishes and you can do this!
