What do you order at The Keg?

I don't go out much to eat these days! We had a gift card for The Keg and thought we would go tomorrow night for dinner. What do you order there?

I took a look at the menu and thought I might get the sirloin steak with extra veggies instead of potato. I'll eat what I can of it. I don't really like getting big restaurant portions and trying to gauge my hunger to eat, but I guess I need to get used to it.

7 ounce filet and you'll have your Sunday breakfast too.  I bring the bacon home for dogs but get the taste on the meat.  Nom!

Yum! I looove the filet. I should look the bearnaise sauce up, it probably has a ton of calories.

I would think so but you might be surprised.  A lot of sauces are primarily salt, though I think barnaises are fat based.  Have fun!  Going to Chinese New Years celebration tonight that was rescheduled due to weather last weekend!

I would get the steak!  Yum!

I am going out to the Pickle Barrel tonight and trying to decide between the Chicken Fajita's (no tortillas), the Steak, or the Seinfelds Julienne Big Salad!  Eek.......decisions, decisions!!

Don't do the bernaise sauce there... OH GAWD!

But... make some WLS friendly Hollandaise for breakfast on Sunday. Verity posted this for me a while back: http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/ON/4600719/Stage-3-1-post- op-sample-menu/#38146636

I would probably order steak with steamed veggies... or go with an App that I wanted served at the same time.

I looked the bernaise sauce up. 271 calories! For a tiny portion of sauce to go with the steak, that is a LOT. And with 15 carbs, I can't even get away with saying it's all that low carb. But it's sooo goood. I will have to try the WLS friendly hollandaise. Very rich, but nice once in a while.

I think I'll stick with the sirloin and veggies. The sirloin has lower calories overall and far fewer carbs.

1.5 cups of sauce made with 2% Oikos from the one Verity posted is

Calories: 325, Fat: 11g, Carbs: 12g, Sugar: 6.3g, Protein: 32g for the whole batch

or

Calories: 32, Fat: 1.1g, Carbs: 1.2g, Sugar: 0.6g, Protein: 3.2g for 30 ml (1 table spoon).

*happy dances*

Add some tarragon, shallots, and chervil and you can make it at home... GUILT FREE!

Verity has my gratitude forever and ever for having shared that.

I am two months post and ventured to a restaurant for the firs time last nght! Guess where? The Keg!

I had the 7oz filet with (yup i did it!!) mashed potatoes. I was at 93g protein and only 22g carb for the day so i indulge in two bites of the potatoes. I ate about 1 1/2 oz of the meat (i cut it into 4 peices) and atr one quarter.. Yess i dipped my fork in the bernaise.. Holy hell that was rich lol. But the steak was so good it didnt need sauce!

I had one peice of the steak for breakfast and one peicr with a few bites of potato for lunch an have enough for one more meal! So a 32$ meal made 4 meals for me!!

Enjoy and eat slowly!!! Pass on the bread

Yummy! I need to eat slow for sure. I LOVE the Keg bread, it's always warm. I used to eat almost the whole load by myself... plus a huge dinner.
