OT - Almond Milk

Hi, I have some Almond Breeze milk (the stuff found in the baking aisle) and it's been open for a while (the expiry date hasn't been reached yet).  How do you know if it's gone bad?  Do you just use the expiry date, or is there a way to tell?  I just don't want to use it if it's bad, but would like to use it up if it's still good.  I have been craving cereal lately, and regular milk and I do not agree :o(

If it's been in the fridge make sure to give it a good shake before you use it.  I had some in my fridge for over a month and when I didn't shake it, there were little chunks of the almond sediment.  I shook it well and it was fine.

Thanks Tracey!  I can't even tell when regular milk has gone, I make my husband check it.  All regular milk tastes sour to me.

You need to use open Almond Breeze (if you peeled off the inner silver tab) within 7 to 10 days. It says so on the box. I've had stuff I had forgotten about in the fridge and opened in two weeks later and it had gone green.... not pleasant. If it's within a week or so, it should be fine, but like Tracey said, make sure to shake it well first.

Eww green.  Mine after a month still looked the same color and once shaken it tasted the same.  Green milk would have grossed me out for sure.

That's the brand I use. Somewhere on the box it says to use within 2 weeks of opening.

I usually use mine up within 3 weeks and no problems.  Did you know that Costco is now carrying the unflavoured, unsweetened version at cheapest price anywhere. 8 bucks for 6 cartons.
