Morning Pat - nice to see you last night.  You're getting smaller every time I see you!  Barb, great steps, as usual when you're golfing...

The two school assignments are almost done - I got one done before work and on lunch break yesterday, and then stayed after work to do the second one before going to coffee night, and I got that one mostly done - just have to do another hour of work on it today (I'll stay after work) and then that one will be done.  The second one is a presentation so it takes longer.  It's a relief to have gotten so much done on them!

So, since I'll be staying after work, I'm going to see what I can scrounge up to bring for supper.  I've run out of meat, didn't plan well.  And no time to get any at lunch since I'll be in a meeting.  So I guess I'll pack other protein sources and pretend I'm a vegetarian today. :)

6.5 MONTHS POST-RNY

B - Premier Protein shake

S - 1 oz Shah's hot roasted chick peas

L - 10 Paris Toasts, 1 oz herbed goat cheese, mixed with 2 tbsps fat free cream cheese, with cucumber slices (to make canapes)

S - 1/2 cup of ricotta/vanilla/splenda with 3/4 cup of mixed berries

D - 1 small serving container of Source yogurt mixed with 1/2 oz almonds

S - Not sure yet - I'll see if I need one and add it in if so.

TOTALS: 81g protein, 30g fat, 64 carbs (50 net carbs), 856 calories

Morning!  Today is a regular work day and running around after work driving my daughter across the city for her activities.  I am trying to increase my daily fluid intake but between meals and snacks I find it very difficult.  Today I am going to get a huge unsweetened tea and try to drink the whole thing before I leave work today.  I have been having a difficult time sleeping lately.  Not sure why as I am usually a great sleeper.  Weird dreams and waking up throughout the night. Hmmm WLS related?  I don't know!

Starting my 6th week POST OP RNY

B: protein coffee

S: cottage cheese and applesauce

L: tuna salad with one melba toast

S: nSA yogurt and 2 tbsp go lean cereal

D: steak, cooked carrots

S: nsa pudding

This could be the earliest I have ever posted! Yay me!

RNY, 7 months post-op

Good morning, everyone!  I'm not feeling 100% today - had some wicked stomach cramping starting yesterday afternoon.  I actually felt good enough to run after dinner, but then they came back like crazy at bedtime.  I think it's constipation related - my body doesn't like to go in "new" places and we were up at the cottage.  I also ate a few things up there that I haven't had in awhile (a pancake, 1/2 glass of wine).  So I took some MOM last night and am back on my Restoralax regime.  My stomach is still crampy but feeling better this morning.  Hopefully that's all it is, but I'll keep monitoring it and go to the Dr. if it gets worse!

Here's my eating plan for today:

B - 3/8 cup greek yogurt, 1/2 cup blackberries/raspberries, 1 tbsp. wheat bran, SF syrup.

S - Pure protein bar

L - 1/2 can tuna, 1 tbsp. mayo, mustard, 3 pieces whole wheat melba, 1 cup spinach salad (with cucumbers, tomatoes, and 1 tbsp. balsalmic vinagrette).

S - Babybell gouda cheese, premier protein drink

D - 100g BBQ chicken, 1/2 cup broccoli, SF pudding with 1 tbsp. peanut butter

S - SF Jello Cups

Totals - 1,086 calories, 88g carbs, 33g fat, 117g protein

I'm hoping to go to a hot yoga class tonight - will be nice in this rainy weather.

Thanks, Pat!  I've only had it really badly once before, a couple of weeks post-op.  It really does make you feel terrible!  I'm hoping that's all it is and there aren't other issues going on (i.e. gallbladder).

My stomach doesn't cramp with gallbladder....it's sharp pain. starts to feel like gas, high under the ribcage, and around the back.

I always feel better when I run too...I think our innards like the movement, which makes sense to me. My daughter had colic due to gas as a baby, and I had to move her like crazy! Take care!

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!

Thanks, Kelly!  It's good to know what gallbladder symptoms feel like - although I'm sorry you are speaking from personal experience.   I hope you get some relief soon!

I am feeling much better as the day goes on - no cramps and have been able to eat normally.  So I'm pretty sure it was just a backup, thankfully nothing worse!

Good morning. Still some sore today, so just a wander around at lunch for exercise for me. Back to spinning tomorrow.  

2 years post RNY

B: protein coffee and 1/4 cheese and ham omelet (i'm slowly re-introducing cheese back in....tummy is not minding it thus far)

S: diet cheese cake (can't wait to start hating these things, they're damn expensive LOL)

L: rest of omelet and corn, kale and almond salad

S: Quest bar

D: tilapia and salad (with feta...yum)

 

Totals Cal: 1,152 Carbs: 47 Fat: 44 Protein:125 Fibre:20 Sugar:15
