FINALLY! TWH Orientation!!!
Hey guys! Anyone who's seen my post knows that I have been trying to get a referral through to the Registry since mid-May, with hurdle after hurdle. It was a very long summer with some weight gain... I've been barely employed and fell back into habit of comfort eating, gaining probably 10-15 lbs. Ugh. BUT! The light has finally poked through the tunnel and I've got Orientation at TWH on October 16th!
I had heard that there was an Orientation session on September 18th at TWH, is anyone going who can tell me what time that one is? Since I work so close to there I am thinking that I may try to go on the 18th just on the off chance that there are no-shows.
I am so relieved that things are finally going to start happening! I am so over being stuck in this body and being out of control.
Keep calling for cancellations....the squeaky wheel ALWAYS gets the oil. Check out my time line!

Hi reliena,
I am also doing all my appts at TWH. I have found it to be a bit of a long process BUT if you can be really diligent and call often to get in on cancelations like hynesj85 said you will go thorough faster. Most people are seeing about 10 - 12 months for the whole process. My referral from my family doc was sent Oct 2012, I got into TWH Orientation on Jan 9th 2013, then my next set of appts were not until June 2013 so that was a six month wait and I did call for cancelations there just weren't any. I then had Social Worker (SW), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Nutrition Class (NUT) and Dietitian all in June, July and August and I have one appt left to do on Sept 24th with the Psychologist (Psych) before my file get's reviewed. If you live close to TWH and have the the time to go there on short notice you will get through faster and if you dont need a lot of extra appts like Sleep study, ultrasounds etc. Personally I am glad it's taking close to a year because it has given me time to sort thorough my feelings and to make sure I am emotionally, physically and mentally ready for this. Its a BIG step.
I wish you the best of luck,
Leslie
