I'm halfway thru 3 weeks of Opti and things are going fine - so far, so good!

I'm looking over the online pages available on the Tor Western UHN website Eating for Health after Gastric Bypass Surgery - and they are different from the handout I received in person back a few months ago in nutrition class - has anyone else suddenly realized things are different?  eg. take 3 calciums everyday rather than 2?

I went through Ottawa and they made a few changes since I started the whole process 2.5 years ago. They continually update info based on studies and recommendations, etc. I think it is good. Makes me feel like they are always trying to stay on top of things & are tracking the effects of this surgery long term on people & trying to make sure they are offering the best service & advice they can.

For the calcium, we are told through Ottawa that we need 1500-2000 per day & can only absorb 500 at a time, so, you will need to take it at least 3 times per day. Personally, I take it 4 times per day based on the size of my pills.
