In Ottawa, they tell us to take 1-4 Metamucil Capsules with every Optifast shake.

Doing this will help you 'solidify' anything liquid in your bowels, and likewise, help if the solids are 'too solid' to eliminate! I experimented and found that 2-3 capsules per shake worked best for me.

It couldn't hurt to ask your centre; but it'd help you to be able to trust your farts again!

And that last line made me laugh even harder... this whole discussion is hilarious (although you better believe that the next thing I'm doing is buying Metamucil in prep for Opti in December!).

I am going through Ottawa, I must have missed or forgotten that part :) last day on shakes, but I will keep this in mind for post op

No advice but just know you are not alone and we have all(many) been there.

Sorry if TMI..

For me it lasted just a day or two. Post surgery it was the opposite problem and that is much more painful!
