Congratulation you are almost on the bench!!

What hospital are you with?  I have never heard of 2 days of clear fluids before surgery. I'm with HRRH.

I am at Hamilton - St Josephs.  You made me wonder if I had read wrong, so looked at book and it says stop opti 48 hours before surgery and have only jello, water, clear popsicles, unsweetened juice etc.  I did not know that this was different than elsewhere.  What normally happens?

I'm on Opti up to midnight before the surgery. I'm exactly a week after you in Guelph. Hope it goes well!

I guess Hamilton is different than most.  Had to go and read my book, was getting a little nervous.  I live in Cambridge but am going to Hamilton because my lung surgeon wants to be close by and he works at St Joe's.  Do you know of any local support groups?  Thanks for the good wishes, and right back atcha.

I did hear of the one that meets at the church in Hespeler I believe the last Sunday of each month. There is also a more 'social' and smaller group that meets in Kitchener. I have to get details from a guy I met at Craving Change. I'll get back to you with details. Good luck!

Craving Change us a program offered at the Y. It is about 6 weeks long and they get you to think about when you eat and why and discuss strategies to change behaviours etc. I thought it was really quite good and the nutritionist recommended it. Wish I had taken it earlier because I made some connections with other pre and post op bariatric patients. That's how I found out about the support groups and this website. 😊
