I have been on Depo Provera for over 3 YEARS, last injection being 11 days ago...NO menstruating...2 weeks of Optifast and BAM, it's here to visit.  I know it's a tiny wrench thrown in, in perspective to what will be happening to me, but it still sucks!!  Thank goodness I have a teenage girl or I would have been unprepared!! Haha. Anyways is this normal?  I'm sure it is but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Andrea,

I don't know much about Depo, but I know a lot of people have changes to their cycle around now and surgery times.  Between hormones being released from fat, and stress and other things, it can mess up things like your cycle for a time.  But it will go back to normal after a while.

I started a really heavy flow a week into my opti (being a heavy weight, I was on it for 3 weeks). I stopped right after surgery, and it came again with a vengeance about a week after surgery and stuck around for another 2 weeks. A month of it in a 6 week period, I was so mad lol. I was also a little relieved, because I would miss so many months when I was super obese. Everything is normal with me now, though.
