i had my orientation last week and I'm looking at food like "I can't have you soon so I'm going to eat you." Help! Sitting here totally ripped (stuffed). At this rate my BMI will go up a notch or two.

The only food that you can never have after weight loss surgery is...nothing. You will be able to eat everything again, just never in the same amounts because you will not be hungry or able to eat much.

Yup, very normal reaction to the looming fact your eating is about to change BIG TIME !!!!

I felt I needed to have everything I loved at least one more time. But like white dove said....it's not that you will NEVER experience these foods again......but hopefully you will have learned many valuable lessons over the first year that you will be able to give the "poor food" choices the fear and respect required.

You are so early in the process. If you gain between your appointments be prepared to be put on a hold or require additional weeks of appointments. Worse case is a complete discharge if you can't follow the program.

Use this time to figure out why you feel the need to stuff yourself. A final meal before Opti is quite normal but feeling the need to binge eat when you haven't yet been deprived hints at a need for some soul searching.

I gained 15pounds between orientation and surgery. No one ever said anything to me. I got in on a cancellation so I didn't do the optifast.

I had my surgery at TWH on April 7th. I feel great! I actually ended up going back to work after a week and a half. I saw no reason in taking more time off when I felt fine. I haven't even had less energy! It is the strangest thing how "normal" I feel.
