so I saw the dietician today. She has cleared me to go ahead for WLS. I just have a few tiny things to tweak such as swapping my green tea for decaf etc. No big deal.. totally doable. Now the list of pills ugh,

prenatal vitamines, got it must take it par for the course

Vitamine D, all ready taking 2000U a day, must add another 2

low iron, omg! One more pill at night

calcium something or other, another pill to take.

i get it, we need it. So if I were to add these pills up and combine with the medication that I am on now.. 1,2,3,8,9 hold on *takes off socks * I am up to 14 pills a day.

Geez I hope I can do this. Pshychiatrist says I can. As I was completely honest with him (even had a couple of tears) but he said out of all his patients lately I was the one most prepared with a support network all ready in place and working.

Tomorrow.. the internist!

Congratulations on getting passed by the dietitian!!

Yes, it's a lot of pills. I was confused by them for a while... and then once I thought I got them sorted out, I went to my one month post op appointment and realized I wasn't taking enough of the multi vitamins. Oops. At least I got it corrected quickly. That's why there are so many checks and balances and it's important to go to follow up appointments.

You got this!! :)

You may want to branch out and try chewables. I do celebrate iron chewable pills and for me it is like candy, I need to ration myself. I also like the soft chew berry calcium. Really, I view them like a treat more than a burden. Lots of people like the Bariatric Advantage ones too.

It has really helped me... if I had not had an awful case of food poisioning I would be ok now with iron too.

Squishy I don't take quite as many pills as you during the day but I think I'm close ;) I space them out over four times a day and take my midmorning and afternoon ones with me to wor****ep them in the kitchen to I remember to pack them:

Early morning:

Two Rx meds, prenatal multi, medicated face stuff

10am:

Calcium citrate chew, 2x vitamin D, magnesium

Also usually take my restoralax around this time

4pm:

Second calcium citrate chew

Bedtime:

One Rx med, B12

If I'm needing added iron I take it at bedtime so it's spaced away from my multi and calcium. And also to help with nausea if there is any. I find with this schedule I'm more likely to take everything because I'm not choking down six pills at once :)

it becomes automatic after awhile - I don't even think about it. I take a handful at breakfast, a smaller handful at dinner, two more calciums sometime during the day (I do chews, so it's like eating candy), and iron before I go to bed.
