So today was my first full day on full liquids and I'm curious how the vets and new post-ops feel about my menu. I'd hate to screw things up so soon out of the gate.

I got at least 4 cups of water in including all my vitamins.

Breakfast: 1/4 cup cottage cheese

Lunch: 1/2 cup mushroom soup with protein powder mixed in

Dinner: 1/4 cup mushroom soup and iogo yogurt with protein powder mixed in

My numbers are 437 Cals, 50 g of protein, and about 12 carbs

It's only 6 so I'll still be drinking for a while

It looks good. The only questions I have:

the sugar in the Iogo, i imagine is under 10 g?

And the soup... you are straining it?

3 grams of sugar in the yogurt and yes I'm straining the soup.

I think its far too early to focus on calories and carbs. You need to focus on water and protein at this point and let your body heal. Once you get to soft foods (even thats pushing it) you can maybe worry about calories but for right now focus on small bites, chewing a lot and getting thay protein in to help your body heal

Ok. I don't want to be obsessed with it so early out but it just seemed like I had no trouble getting in what I did that I worried I was doing something wrong.

Thanks for the encouragement.

It sounds like you are doing great. At day 4 I was trying to hit 8 cups fluid and 60 g protein and it wasnt easy. Isn't it nice to be able to have a bit of flavour again?

My goal was 60 grams of protein but didn't quite get there. And my book from TWH said 2-4 cups so I figured 4 was a good start seeing as it was also my first full day home from hospital. But I will definitely keep increasing my water intake. I ran out and bought some protein powder to add to my food because although I didn't mind the protein shake I wasn't enjoying it.

But I really enjoyed the cottage cheese and I haven't had mushroom soup in years, it was delicious.

Thanks
