OT: Only 1 more sleep (and a bit of an update + a question)
Tomorrow, 1/30/09, I finished this term..... Mergers & Aquisitions and Leading Effective Organizations. Both classes were awesome and I loved them. Yet, it's been a killer term with a lot of work to do! The last week I've been up till 1am working on school work....only leaving work at 9pm (taking the subway home via 69th street station at 10-11pm is fun, let me tell you).
SO, 1 more sleep then I'm done this term. Next weekend a new term starts ... however this new term is my LAST term. I graduate June 13th and it can't come soon enough.
Good news - even through this rough patch I've been going to the gym on my regular cycle and doing *my best* to eat 6 small meals a day. With the baby coming downtown to daycare, and my late night schedule, i've not been packing food but have been buying healthy chices at DiBruno Brothers. I am aware, though, that I can now eat a bit more. I am not testing it - just noticing it. Next week I'm thkning of keeping a food journal just to re-baseline and check myself.
Down 87lbs since surgery (6 months ago) and down 102lbs from when I first met Dr. Marymor in October 2007.
Started very light weight lifting today.....need some guidance here. It didn't "feel like a workout" given I've been busting my @$$ doing cardio for 6 months. I mean, I hardly broke a sweat in the 30-40 minutes....I contimplated not even showering (but I did
) .... so tell me, are your "weigh days" a bit "easier" than your "cardio" days? I mean, it felt like I was wasting my time. I wanted to jump on the treadmill just so I could work up a sweat to feel like I "did something".... you know?
OH YES - and my little angel started walking a few weeks ago. She's not running around just yet but she's certainly going 10' and a time.
Good night everyone - gotta go polish off my presentation for tommrow. I look forward to posting more in coming 2 weeks given my new school schedule.

I don't sweat as much on my weight days....however....I feel the work out, especially if I have been lax in doing my weights to begin with. My muscles definately twinge and are sore, especially about 24 hours after.
You want to work to just below your max...one personal trainer told me 60-80% of your max weight - your max weight is how much you can do ONE rep with. So, if you can lift let's say 100 pounds on something (i'm just using that for math...) your weight should probably be between 60 and 80 pounds for a set of 10-12 for four sets.
Good luck! And cheers to you almost graduating!!! I remember that feeling while in nursing school!!

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
