What an awersome WOW moment!

For myself I would wantto be honest about what happen with the surgery and even explain (in cliff note version) what happen with your surgery. THen explain the work that goes into this surgery the life change that must happen for long term results. Lets face it the surgery does not work if we do not change are habits for food and exercise.

Best of luck and let us kow when we can read it!

Thank you ALL for your input and encouragement.  Based on the clarity and unanimity of your feedback, I will explain the surgery issue and see how they choose to include it in the article.  Pam, I really like some of your suggested wording - thanks!

The irony is that if I'd had a complete RNY or lap band or anything I would have had no hesitation at all about mentioning it.

Also, I got home late last night and my before and after pictures were in the mail from Barix.  Wow.  I've got to get them electrified so I can share them with you!

Thanks, again, for all your advice and counsel.

So you had what would be similar to banding but is regressive and uncontrolled. LOL  You could explain it just gave you a temporary jump-start.

Wow imagine that I agree with what they all said. I am "loud and proud" when it comes to sharing about my surgery, and making sure that everyone knows that it is still hard work and commitment that make it work. I can certainly understand where you are coming from. Like Pam said maybe you can stress the fact that you only had a partial bypass. I would make sure that whoever writes the article fully understands and ask to see and approve of a final copy of the article. Either way the people at your gym obviously see all the HARD work you put in, and it is an incredible WOW and a great honor. CONGRATULATIONS !!

Karen - I would go for it and tell them the story. They may decide against it, but then again they may run with it and maybe your story will inspire someone who has been struggling with making the decision to to have WLS.
