If you're so inclined... please say a prayer for my Father

He's going in for surgery Monday morning and then Wednesday morning to clear some bloackage in his arteries on the left and right side of his neck.

He has a very gifted surgeon, and I am of course praying and hoping for nothing but the best. I am a firm believer in the power of prayer and faith, and would appreciate good thoughts and prayer sent my Father's way.

He's a great man and we all want to keep him around for a long, long time.

Thanks.

Norm,

I'll be more than happy to keep your dad and all of you in my prayers!  I'm living proof of the power of prayer: 15 years ago, I had a cerebral aneurysm which ruptured during surgery.  Surgery ended up being 24 hours.  I firmly believe it was gifted medical professionals and countless people praying for me that got me where I am today!!!  Please keep us posted on how your dad is doing!!!

Wow Julia! I am in the medical field, and not much scares or bothers me.............except Aneurysms. They are so unpredictable and SCARY! It's the one thing I am a freak about. If I get a slight headache.....I think I have one. But then I have had 6 people in my life pass from them unexpectedly, so it makes me nervous.

I am inspired by your story.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Jodi,

I realize how lucky I am, especially when I hear people like you talk about how many people have passed from aneurysms.  Heck, my boyfriend's mother passed from one, which gave me goosebumps when I learned that.  My story is so crazy that it almost seems made up.  In addition to the 24 hour surgery, I was kept in a coma for a week to allow brain swelling to go down.  I'm so fortunate that the docs were listening when I said something was wrong!  It was an eye doctor that found it; I found out a year later, he had trained in neurosurgery.  Divine intervention?  Maybe!  I think if you ever had one, you would have more than a slight headache!  lol  I was told that it would be the kind of pain that would wake you out of a sound sleep.  I know I don't have any more, but I still worry too when I get a headache!
