Ida,

So sorry to hear about the tooth.  I hope that all goes well with the endodontist today.  Tooth pain can be excruciating especially when the pain meds no longer work.  Take care.

I have a preggie belly.  other words, I always look like I'm about to pop out a baby.  I can see in my butt that I am smaller, but when I do my side views, I still look like I'm a size 24.

I went out to the yearly dinner with my dad to Applebee's for out Veteran's Day Dinner. (NOT much on the menu at all for Bariatric Patients).  They pick 6 or 7 meals.  I chose the lesser of 2 evils.  That was Panko breaded shrimp and fries.  I had 4 shrimps and 3 small fries. The rest went home and my 9 yr old granddaughter is eating the rest.   I got home 1 1/2 hr ago and I am NOT having any problems with it at all.     Well, my dad told me how NICE I looked and stuff.  Also told me that he can see why my sister is jealous and giving me a hard time.  I chuckled on that one a bit.

I see my surgeon tomorrow morning...  Can't wait to see what she says...

Happy Weekend Donna!

I'm kind of wishing my life away at this point looking forward to tomorrow @ 2:30 when I see my Endodontist to have root canal on this tooth that has been killing me for a week now.  Even the narcotic pain meds are no longer working.

The new kitty is doing good.  Saw the vet yesterday, he is now on probiotics to build up the good bacteria in his intestinal track to combat all the antibiotics he's been on that have killed all the good bacteria.  He still needs to wear his recovery cone when we are not in the room with him.  I think he's starting to get restless wanting to be with us in the same room.  It is going to be interesting once Hider is introduced to him.  He's has such and easy little personality.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Jackie,

It takes a lot of time for our brains to adjust to a smaller body.  I had my surgery in June.  I knew that my clothes were smaller and the scale was going down.  Finally in December I went and bought jeans - looked at myself in the mirror and noticed that my rear end was a lot smaller.  At that point in time I took out an old pair of pants and saw how huge they were.  I never realized how fat I was.  Plateaus occur in our weight loss.  Sometimes you need to change up your food - eat breakfast at supper time etc. and look at your activity level.  Body distortion is very common in WLS patients.  I don't know if you take measurements but sometimes they are a better indication of what is going on than the actual pounds lost.  Just something to think about.  TAke care.

From new years to my Oct 10 surgery date,  I lost 37 lbs.

Since my surgery date, I lost another 22 lbs.

Went from size 24 down to 20.

I still feel like I am still a size 24.  IS this normal to feel like this?  I went from 284.5 to 225.

Happy Weekend PA peeps!

I hope that everyone is able to get some extra test, accomplish over due tasks and just generally be good to themselves this weekend.  I had a very busy week - working 4 days in a row.  I haven't done that in over 18 months.  I can feel it in the body but I woke up today by 7 AM ready to get a lot accomplished.  Teaching is difficult - substitute teaching is more so.  Luckily I know a lot of these kids and I was a teacher here and also volunteer 2 days a week.  I don't know how teachers do it who go around to different schools to sub.  I don't think that I would have the energy for that.

On the agenda for this weekend - getting my hair cut and colored today and doing some food shopping.  Just threw a load of laundry in and getting ready to strip the bed and change the sheets.  Tomorrow might just be a lazy day for me - we'll see.  Trying to make good food choices.  Another plus about working this week - had to get up and pack my food every day and didn't have time to eat all of it but when I went into the food it was only good stuff - no junk.  Yeah me.  The weather is supposed to warm up so I intend to get outside a bit.  Remember to make every day count - no one guarantees us tomorrow.  Peace out.

I just saw this.  oops.  I guess I'm guilty of not coming here as often to offer and obtain support.  This is a good reminder.  So many people in varying stages of this journey are directed to OH.com for information and encouragement.  I'll try to be a more regular participant.
