Pre op testing tomorrow hoping the clinic is open we got a snow storm on its way 10 to 14 inches yikes. Hope not that much as I want to get this appt in. My surgery is on Monday and they need enough days to get in the results. ugh ! can you tell I am getting stressed about it.

August 2010 weight 138 lbs lost of 179.5 lbs but gain again since my gallbladder surgery Oct 2010 range recentlly my weight got up to 166 and I was in freak mode. I am now down to 152.6 hoping to get back to 135 and started generic wellbutrin

I will update when I can after my surgery. I didnt' expect this fast was thinking it would of been the end of the month or beginning of March. But it is best to get it over and done with now. I won't have to deal with a period again this month wouldn't that be nice unless I it strikes again early. shh!

Have you asked your doctor to check your hormone levels?
The symptoms certainly sound like PCOS, but it could be a host of other things as well.

I don't know that gluten specifically is the problem so much as any type of simple carbohydrates. Insulin resistance just means your glucose leves continue to rise even while your body is producing more than sufficient amounts of insulin to "cap" the glucose. (I'm over simplifying - but you get the point) This generally happens after something is ingested which promts the glucose levels to rise quickly - carbohydrates that metabolise quickly.
Based on my experience when I cut out most carbs and stick to a high protein diet - my PCO symptoms retreated and my weight dropped as well.
I'm not sure if that exactly answers your question - but I hope it helps...

I just got word for my surgery date of Monday Feb 15th at 7:30 am (have to be there at 5:30 am) I am having cyts remove from my ovaries and having my uterus and cervix removed. This will be open surgery so I will be cut straight across. He said after a c-section that they don't do lapscopically so I stuck with open. So I am fine with that. As long as I am not going to have no more periods. Sucks having them 2 times a month and heavy bleeding also causing me to be anemic.

Topic: Gluten free foods?
I have not been diagnosed with PCOS; however most of the symptoms I have read about seem to match up with my experiances. I was banded on 9/18/2008 and have lost a total of 50 pounds. Recently I have been reading about PCOS and Insulin Resistance. They seem to go hand in hand... Has anybody tried eating gluten free and alliviating slow weightloss, PCOS symptoms, and insulin resistance? or am I totally wrong?
