Topic: RE: endo ambilation vs partial hystermocty
I was exactly in your shoes, i have cysts all over my ovaries, bleeding for 11 weeks straight, upside down in pain. I was anemic and i didn't want anymore kids. The big problem for me is that i am only 25. They were telling me almost the same thing, to try the ablation and we will tie your tubes at the same time, but the ablation doesn't guarantee anything. so i put my foot down to wanting a hysterectomy. I didn't want to have to go back in a few months just to have another procedure done, they had already did a pelvic laperoscopy on the 18th. so Friday the 29th i had my hysterectomy, they left my ovaries since they were only causing me pain when i was bleeding and i was so terrified of HRT but they did take my cervix too. I was told that if they leave the cervix in you can still have what they call mini periods, and i really don't want any bleeding at all. I am still in the hospital, Yes it is painful, but i think it will so be worth it, If you have any other questions for me just ask, i have alot of websites too that might be able to help you make your decision.

If you're willing to travel to Philly, my doctor is WONDERFUL. Her name is Katherine Sherif and she is the director of the Center for Women's Health at Drexel. Her office is downtown across the street from Hahnemann Hospital. Here is the link for contact information:

I'm not sure what reasons you might have not to, honestly. It helps me a lot!

It's a good idea to regulate it with birth control, I have had to since i was 18. lol
I was on alesse but i kept spotting so we moved up a tad to Yaz. Lotsa choices! I might use the ring after surgery, after reading so many other post-op bleeding posts by PCOS girls like me.

My gynecologist does not seem concerned about my PCOS and does not really help me problem solve. I live in lancaster but will travel

Topic: several PCOS questions
I have looked through the topics to see if anyone has posted anything similar and I dont see anything so I have a few questions.

I have PCOS and was on spironolactone and metformin before surgery. I was taken off them after and have not been on them since.
I was on the BC pill when i had my surgery. I have had no problems with my periods since.
I did 2 years in go off the pill. just to give my body a break and i was curious to see if my periods would stay regular.
MY periods have stayed perfectly regular. BUt what i have noticed in the past year, is weight gain, raging carb cravings, thinner hair on my head, hair on my chin and face. I am wondering if my pcos could be the cause of this and if I should go back on the pill?
