I had hysterectomy last month. Have only 1 ovary and from what my doc told me after a few years the ovaries tend to shut down. I also have had the gastric bypass but have not had any complications with either one. I will be a year on the 27th for my gastric bypass and my hysterectomy was done last month on the 2nd. Since my procedure I have not had any complications and feel human again. Maybe you should see another doc just do what you feel is in your best interest.

Topic: Crossing Over to Transfer Addictions...VERY BAD TIME OF THE YEAR!
REMINDER....

Hi All,

There is a new OH Online Support Group. The above link will get you there.
It's called
Crossing Over to Transfer Addictions.

This group discusses the issue of transfer addictions (also known as cross addictions) after weight loss surgery. there are millions of people who have undergone gastric bypass who are now dealing with issues of addiction transfer.

For a number of people, giving up overeating leads to adoption of a new compulsion.

Addiction transfer occurs when someone is unable or unwilling to rely on one compulsion (for us, it was food) and so switches to a new compulsion (alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, shopping, internet, porn, etc) due to not having dealt with the underlying issue behind the compulsion.

***Please feel free (and safe) to join and discuss any and/all issues you have regarding Transfer Addiction. ***

What one did you have placed? I had Mirena Place on the 1st of Sept. The daily spotting has just recently stopped within the last couple weeks. Every now and again I will get a little bit. But I am so glad it seems to be going away. My Gyn said to give it 6 months before giving up on it. I was so redy to do that back in the end of October!

Hi Jung

I can relate to this when I had my RNY surgery in February I bled for 3 weeks straight and my surgeon said it was th shock to my body from the surgery.

I had the ablation in June of 2008 as well and a month later flooded with bleeding again so I guess mine was a failure as well.

Well now 11 months later since surgery and actualyl 2 years almost since the bleeding problems continue.  I dont like the thought of menopause either as Im only 45 but at the same time I dont like the thought of having a period every 10 days, because my boy is probably thinking retain water, let go, retain water, let go it doesnt know whether its in reverse or drive mode.   Im hoping that someone has some answers for us thats for sure.

Ive asked for a hysterectomy but unfort I was seeing doctors interning and the last one said wait longer with the IUD its almost been 4 months and bleeding is not flooding but definitely haveing a period every 10 days for 16 days at a time is not my idea of it being uncontrol.  Im going back to my doc tomorrow and ask her to send me to another gynec, 2nd one I was supposed to see has a 4-6 month wait time.

Let me know if you get any emails with advice on any help you hear

Suzanne

The same thing that happened to Rebecca happened to me.  My cyst was smaller but it blocks my uterus.  The gyn tried to burn through it but couldn't.  Ultra sound showed nothing.

I am so relieved to hear about your problems because I am having the same-I just thought my body was weird.  My period started the day after surgery and was terrible.  They had been very light and short pre-surgery.  I had an ablation in June of '08 which my gyn deemed a failure because she couldn't get far enough into my uterus secondary to a large cyst blocking the entrance. Despite that I did have some relief from my symptoms. Post surgery I am now having the "old" wicked cramps and the moodiness is awful.  Everything is lasting longer and bleeding is heavier.  Periods are now every two weeks.  I'm only 40 and am worried about a hysterectomy because of menopause-mostly concerned about memory problems.  I won't risk hormone therapy because breast cancer killed my aunt and grandmother. Wonder if there is a resource somewhere that can shed some light on our issues?

First of all - kudos to you for 116 lbs lost. That is amazing news. I too have PCOS and most of the symptoms are taken care of, except for the weight and no kids.

I am hoping to beat it as well with the surgery. Thanks for being an inspiration!

Years ago, and I mean years ago I took this for the hair. Finally I gave up and got laser hair removal. Best decision I ever made My before and after photos are amazing. I haven't taken the aldactone in over 8 years.

:)

To answer your question, I noticed a slight difference but at the time I was shaving every day. Once I started laser treatments by my third laser I stopped shaving. I haven't put a razor to my chin/neck since.
