Has anyone had any dealings with this? I had one a week ago, and I go see my Gyno tomorrow.  I have never had this happen to me before and it was very painful. If you have dealt with this before, what did you do? Thanks for any input!

 Hello,
Niether PCOS or poor eating habits are probably the cause of your weight regain. Hysterectomy can cause weight gain especially in the young pre-menapausea. Ovaries taken or not may place a role in this too. To often we all assume that uterus is just a muscle bundle yet it is very much hormonally active.

I remember seeing a graph on the NIH website a few years ago that showed the distribution of the hysterectomies done in the US and the incidence of female obesity. They were near identical match.
Glucophage can cause weight gain.
I would recommend getting back to you WLS surgeon.
You had nothing to do with your weight regain.
Good luck.

Topic: RE: Pcos and Pregnacy
Teresa, I too Have PCOS  I just had my surg on Mon. However  I tried for 15 years to get pregnant with no luck  I only had three periods not induced by meds from 18 until I turned 23,none since,  After my father passed I got rid of a lot of baggage and 76 poundes.  I had been on Glucophage for 10 years, clomid  with no help.  When I lost my weignt my doctor they have had success using birth control for about 9 mo then rying the clomid while still on the glucophage.  We tried it and i was pregnant  the second month.  It was the best blessing I have ever gotten.  Don't give up.   Samantha is a beautiful 3 years old that wants a sibling,( I am 40) another story.

I have had at least 12 friends in same boat as we are, everyone except me had the surgery before being preg.

You are in my prayers

We have been trying for 5 years, and I am obese, and also 40. I am preop, but I was told by the WLS doctor, that we could try to conceive 6-12 months after surgery.  My OB/GYN is who suggested WLS since there are so many risks trying while obese, and when it is time, we will be doing clomid/IUI cycles.  I only have one good tube left (lost a tube do to infection after csection with my 5 1/2 yr old.)

Topic: RE: anyone experience with provera?
I was actually put on Provera to MAKE me bleed, so my experience may not be exactly what you're looking for. But I didn't have any noticeable side effects while I was taking it. I'm supposed to take it once a day for 10 days every 40 days. The first time was horrible...my period lasted for two and a half weeks straight, very heavy, lots of clots, just terrible. I ended up going out and buying some adult diapers just to keep me from soaking my clothes and my furniture. But every time since then (assuming I take it on time), I've had an absolutely normal period, which is something I had never had.

I had a Thermochoice Endo Ablation approx 4 yrs ago - it was the best decision I ever made.  My bleeding is controlled now, and I can have a life.

Good news I don't have cancer. I do have 2 cysts on both ovaries. He wants to repeat it again in 2 months. I had them before in 2008. He said they can come and go all the time. But he said if they still there he wants to do the endo ambilation and removal of the cysts at the same time instead of 2 procedures. So I have to wait for the outcome in 2 months.

Happy thanksgiving!
