Topic: dysfunctional uterine bleeding is what the dx today
Went to see a new doctor today that specialize in female care.  had a pap smear, endo biopsy, tomorrow ultrasound. Please say a prayer for me that it isn't cancer. He mention that it could be cancer. I hope it is not!

He gave me hormone pills to stop the bleeding got to take them for 12 days. Might need endo abiliation or hystercomy. Depending on what the ultrasound and the test results. Hubby is freaking out, getting worried. I rather have it all taken out and never worry about it again !

Has anyone had this problem before. I just got over mine again 5 days ago and started again yesterday. I am averaging between 8 to 12 days and then getting again between 5 to 12 days. I feel like crap, cramps, heavy bleeding. I am tired of it all!

He gave me a med called provera 10 mg for 12 days.

I am due to have a hyster. in a few weeks also because of pcos. I had my wls in Jan and my symptoms just got worse.  But Dr. said my hormones would be a little crazy because of my body losing so fast. I do believe it has slowed down my wl progress because I'm only about a few months from my anniversary and I've only lost about 50 pounds.  I know 50 pounds is 50 pounds but compared to others its really nothing. Well really what I want to know is if you had any insulin resistance and if so is it under control since your hysterectomy. I would appreciate any type of advice that you could give me regarding the hysterectomy. Don't know really what to expect after surgery, kind of worried that I'll regret it because I'm going to be worse off. My doctor is taking everything except one of my ovaries. Its the healthy one but I hear after a few years the ovaries tend to stop functioning anyways. I guess he's going to leave it so I don't go into early menopause? Well like I said I would really appreciate any information you could give me regarding your experience with the hysterectomy. Thanks

Topic: RE: Symptoms with IUD?
I have not had the WLS yet but I am just getting the ball going. I do however have PCOS and have been put on Metformin and Spironolactone twice a day. I had a baby in May of '09 and had Mirena inserted on Sept. 1st. For the first 2 months I absolutely hated it, and even considered having it removed. I had spotting every day and sometimes got horrible cramping and occasional bloating. Now I've had it almost 3 months and I LOVE it! The spotting and cramping have stopped. The only time I will spot is the day after I have intercourse. I would do it again in a heartbeat. The procedure didn't hurt at all for me. I was told I would need tylenol or motrin for a day after and I never ended up needing to take it at all. I had no cramping til about a week later when is when the spotting started.

I am a preop and not an expert on the subject by no means, but to the best of my understanding, if you have RNY (gastric bypass) or a DS (deodunal switch), you need to wait 18 months!!!

Also double up and be very careful about birth control after WLS because Ive heard that you become super fertile, and you want to make sure you wait your required time, and go on to have a healthy pregnancy and beautiful babes.

Good luck with your journey!!

Hey there!

I was diagnosed PCOS many years ago.  I actually had a hysterectomy in February of this year, doctor took my cervix, uterus and one tube - left me with one tube and both ovaries (which apparently are just covered)

Its positive to read your that your doctor is telling you are "cured" of PCOS - that is awesome.  I hope for the cure or at least relief of all these symptoms when I have my WLS and am on the bench.

......and best of luck down the road in the future to have a healthy pregnancy and beautiful baby Elena!

Topic: Just an update from the last post
So from my last post a few weeks ago I had posted how AF has been coming monthly the past 2 months on her own.  Well yesterday I had all the symtoms of Ovulation, the sore nipples, the eggwhite CM. I took an OPK and whatdoyaknow It was positive. The test line was darker than dark, alot darker than control line.  So now I have O'd once on my own since AF has started showing up on her own.  I am so excited. I hope this means it will be a little easier to concieve on my own when I am ready to start again in the near future!!!!!!  YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
