Hungry
Hi all,
I've been lurking for awhile, I am almost 2 weeks post-op. I feel great, except for finding out a new lactose intolerance, my recovery has been better than expected. I am wondering what people's experience has been with feeling hungry? I am surprised to find that I feel what I think is a low level of hunger most of the time, and I get hungry when it is time for a meal. I don't know if it is "phantom" hunger or real, but I expected to have no hunger for 6 mos - 1 year from what I had learned pre-surgery.
Thanks,
Amy
I feel the same way and I think its more head hunger than anything. At work I am on a schedule so am use to going to break and eating lunch the same time everyday. When it gets around break/lunch time I think I am hungry because I havebeen programmed to eat at those times. Also I get cravings for stuff and then when I really think about it I dont really want whatever it is I *think* I am craving - in reality Im not even hungry!!! Its hard to get out of the old habits!
Amy;
I would guess that your hunger is more routine oriented and psychological than anything. I'm 8 months post-op and still don't feel real hunger.
Try changing up your routine. When the head hunger hits, go for a 15 minute walk or do an activity that will distract you.
Blessings,
Jennifer
