I am, hopefully, 4 - 6 weeks out from surgery and have been told to start eating and drinking more protein. Does anyone have any good ones that are not loaded with sugar? Thank you very much for your help!

I'm almost six weeks out from my surgery, and I am getting ready to switch to whey protein. I've been told on this forum that it doesn't have taste and you can add it to just about everything. You might try that.

There are a few kinds that I really like: Any Whey protein powder - unflavored and you can mix it with anything has 17 grams per scoop. I bought it at www.http://store.bariatriceating.com/ Isopure Low Carb Powder - I love the chocolate but comes in other flavors too. I use only 1 scoop (1/2 serving) which is 25 grams and usually mix it with Calorie Control Milk I also like Zero Carb Isopure Premixed bottles- Love the Alpine Punch I mix it with Crystal Lite Lemonade - it's yummy. A 20oz bottle has 40 grams of protein You can get the Isopure products at GNC. In fact I just bought some today and they are having a buy one get one for 50% off sale. Hope that helps Ronna

Ronna: Thank you for the info. I found a whey protein today with 24g protein and 2g sugar. I hope it works. I have never heard of Isopure, I will go gett some this weekend. I finish up my testing next week, so surgery is not long off! Thank you again, Kelly

I use BioChems 100% Whey Protein 20g protein in 2 scoops and only 4 grams sugar... I use unflavored and vanilla. I also eat Pria's protein bars - they run about 10g sugar and 9-10 grams protein each - the Lemon Zest is good!

Kelly; Profect (www.protica.com) has 100 cal, 25g of protein, 0g of fat and 0g of sugar. It's only 3 oz. I use them a lot. Also, Fit365 (www.fit365.com) is one of my new favorites. It's 160 cal, 21g of protein and I can't remember the other stats, but it's low enough in sugar I don't have a problem with it. Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 158 / 137
