How to....avoid loose skin after weight loss???
Hehe.. Here it comes again. A repost close to 2 years later! I am scheduled for surgery 7-13-2012 and I have been doing a little ( more like obsessive amounts
) of research on the whole procedure. Start to finish. I am educated on how it works, how long it takes, the diets per op/post op. portions, still feeding the rest of your family while you stay on track... I got all of that. What I am not so sure of is........you guessed it :)
EXTRA SKIN!
Id say I really don't have much to lose, not compared to some, I am not worried about skin on my belly (easibly hideable) my legs (pretty solid there- and only there) but my arms... I worry about! Is there pre op arm exercises I can do to get them on the way to buff before I start losing? And what would they be?
Thanks for following all of that- some of my late night ramblings, but I look forward to the responses :)

It depends on the area of skin you want to lose, and it's all relative to the elasticity of your skin. Butters, creams, lotions, belts, "miracle cures" only waste your money. Think about a pregnant woman- many can bounce right back to a good size within a year after their baby is born; for me, though, after having three children and undergoing bypass, I will still look pregnant because my skin is not very elastic.
I would advise toning your muscles to try to fill the void if you desire to, but there isn't anything besides medical intervention (surgery) that will get rid of the excessive amount of skin after having bariatric surgery.

I've lost tons of weight before (after I had my daughter i lost probably a total of 60 lbs). I never had any loose skin. I'm praying the same will be true moving forward! I didn't even think of the loose skin before. My mom had the bypass and so did my dad, and they only had loose skin around the stomach. Im just worried about my stomach thats my fattest area. My butt has always been big even when my body was on fire (eat your heart out Kim Kardashian!)
