Peeps in Ohio, KY, IN & PA: You OK after the hurricane force winds???
On Sunday my moms dining room ceiling caved in - about 1/4 of it is on the floor. The water damage is bad. She lost alot of personal items and her "stuff" that has been stored in that room. Black mole is everywhere so the problem must have been building up. She never heard it happen, I found it while I was visitng that day. We are bringing her to my house to stay while we get repairs. She is going to have to have walls and everything checked for the mold behind everything. I can't even think about the cost! My mom is 84 and has early dementia and chronic lung disease on oxygen. I know that there are so many people that have lost everything in the storms - I felt only a small part of what they must be going through. My prayers are with them too.

We lost power till about 5pm yesterday in Columbus, Ohio. Well, roughly 150k are still without power, including my boss whom was swearing he was moving to the south end after he called this morning to say not to report to work yet as the complex is without power still. They will make the call around 10am as to whether we will be working today or not. I am just glad I didnt lose my 2 freezers' worth of food! We kept them shut up and no opening. My Dad found ice yesterday morning and we got that in our fridge and regular freezer in the kitchen to keep that frozen. The only thing I threw out was my girls' ice cream that got soupy. Now I just need to reattach the 4 strips of siding that came off. Its not worth making an insurance claim on.
I hope everyone else is doing well and that if they dont have power, they get it soon!

My whole street still has no power, of course it could be because of the utility poles and wires that are leaning over the street.
Fire department just put up horses to block it in. Lots of tree damage, large tree fell on my mentally challanged clients house while I was there working. We thought the loud noise was my boss in her apartment, and she thought it was me and the clients jaggin around. Turns out it was the big ole pine tree collasping on her apartment. Oops. The only good part was we didnt lose power at work and I got to see the whole Steeler game, the bad part was all the tree branches and rotten food I had to deal with at my home. Oh well, it could be worse, we coulda lost everything.

Power was out in my neighborhood in the city for about 26 hours. I tried to relocate to see the steelers game since the power got knocked out before half time. And the place we went lost power. Ended up keeping track of the game in the dark over my bf's cell phone internet connection.
Just got power back late last night. The worst was the traffic signals being out on major roads yesterday morning and evening during rush hour. That makes already miserable traffic unbearable and dangerous.

I got my power back early morning yesterday but still no %#*&^ cable/internet/home phone! Time Warner sucks!!!! I have two BIG branches (and several 5-6ft ones and LOTS of small ones) down in my front yard. Have to try to somehow drag them to the street this evening (where's a big, burly man when you need one?!?). Neither of the big branche**** my house... just dented the gutter in one spot.
The worst part is them having to cancel my PS because the hospital was without power. NOW I can;t get anyone to answer the phone at the PS's office to try to get it rescheduled... but I know they have power and phones because the answering machine now picks up. grrr...

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
