I'm hoping to have my insurance approval in the next week or two and need to get some Optifast for my pre-op diet. What worked out better for you? Optifast Ready to Drink or the Powder? I'm leaning toward the powders, but would like to hear some opinions. Thanks!

I didn't have a choice between the liquid and the powder. I did the liquid. It was fine. I didn't cheat at all!

Good luck!

I did the full Optifast program a couple of years ago, and did a mix of the ready to drink and the powder. I used Vanilla powder, blended with coffee and splenda for breakfast every morning, and used the chocolate ready to drink at all other times.

The ready to drink is very portable- just get a cup of ice wherever you are, and you are good to go!

I used them both. The RTD are great when you are running - grab one and go, no mixing, etc.  Small enough to fit inside a purse, or in a car. (for later).

The powder could be mixed with other flavors.

But we had a choice and I also used the Muscle milk light.  Cheaper and we could swap.  The Muscle milk - I drink it now, so I was not left with unused Optisource (expensive and to much sugar for RNY)

Thanks ladies! I won't be able to have any good blend-ins so I guess the RTD will be the best option. I work, have a two year old and a husband, the simpler the better!
