I am 10 months out, I don't make a habit of it, but this weekend after outlet shopping I was so hungry I'd have eatten a cow had it walked by me. Me and the BFF went to Ruby Tuesdays, I got the salad bar 2 of their little burgers and the fries, I ate the salad had a few fries and ate most of one burger with the bun and all, that last darn bite wasn't happening, so I brought the other burger home and the fries minus the 4 or so I ate.
I hate eggs but I have had a strip of two of bacon also.

I eat burgers too and usually without the bun but not always. We were moving  about 2 months ago and I ate dinner one night at McDonalds (does not happen often) and ate most of a 99 cent cheese burger. I don't usually eat fries- sometimes home cooked ones... and then it is just a few- because they take up too much room with no redeeming qualities.

At 9 months a burger isn't unheard of..I didn't eat any bread at that time but I did start adding bread after alittle more than a year. It just seemed to stick there before that.

I did also add bacon to my diet about 2 years post op. Before that, the fat in pork didn't like me much. I couldn't eat ham or sausage at all so I haven't at all. This year my son wants a spiral honey baked ham for Christmas so I may get another chance to try one here soon..To be sure, I will go very slowly with it.

Actually, I had this issue with someone I thought was my ideal WLS model early out. I was told no coffee ever again. She was 2 years before me and when we were decorating, I saw a steaming cup of something...Thought it was tea and asked. Nope. Coffee...So each of us has our tolerances and each of us has our demons. I gave in on the coffee demon but not on the sausage demon. I cave alittle sometimes on the bread demon (mostly whole wheat) but have stayed away from the pasta demon...

Each of us has our own demons. Some will push the limits and some will have regain. It depends on your tolerances for your demons and those particular demons.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I do the burger thing now and then Bad carbs are a trigger for me ...BUT it took me a year to get to being able to get a small one down from Wendy's ...I can eat a few fry's but what a waste of good food space...really fatty foods make me dump...however I did eat a few tiny bites of bacon wrapped water chestnusts at a party yesterday...went down and stayed down ..I eat Mac and cheese but only a few bites ....and I have shared a girlled cheese with my grand daughter...as for Egg's I used to love them post op OMG they make me soooo sick...RNY is not a diet it is a Journey ...a life LONG Journey...most food you will eat again BUT YOU learn really fast that its all in moderation...dont think for ONE min that YOU cant or wont dump on anything ...that can change daily so you have to proceed with caution...I was at a party yesterday and a year ago I could take a few of the veggies...yesterday I took ONE of everything ate 1/2 and enjoyed every single bite...last year I droweled over the cake this year it was like Ikkkk...some things change !! and thats a good thing...Good Luck in your Journey....Lisa

The surgery is only a tool - you are the one who makes the choices of what to eat. While your surgeon/NUT may perfer you eliminate certain foods forever again its up to you to choose what you eat. I have no food intolerances and can eat whatever I want... its up to me to make smart choices and hold myself accountable for what I eat. Personally what I strive to do is not eliminate foods but find healthier versions of them - you can do turkey bacon, low fat cheese grilled cheese sammies, mac & cheese with whole wheat pasta and LF cheese, burgers with lean meat, homemade baked fries - I do eat the 'bad' foods but keep them in moderation and stay mindful of portions sizes.

I haven't eaten lunch yet today (it's not even 1:10 pm here in CA, a normal lunchtime for me) and guess what I'm craving all of a sudden?!

I *can* eat almost anything in small amounts, but I have given up a number of foods entirely for various reasons.  Hamburger is ok for me as long as it is high quality hamburger (which eliminates ALL of the fast food places, fortunately)... it is simply too difficult to chew up sufficiently if it is not a good quality of beef.  Max & Erma's burgers as well as Hard Rock Cafe go down fine.  Red Robin is no good for me.

Fried food bothers me much more than food with sugar, so I have to be very careful with it.  I have found that I actually cannot stand the taste of french fries any more... all I can taste is the grease it was fried in   , so now I don't even bother stealing one off of someone else's plate.  Even one fried onion ring is one of the few things that really makes me sick to my stomach, so those are off my list permanently as well.

A bite or two of mac & cheese, though, is fine for me... as is a couple of bites of bread.  (I had half of a turkey sandwich (no crust) the day after Thanksgiving and it was soooooo  yummy!)  Some people cannot tolerate any breads at all, though, so you need to be prepared to give up anything post-op, if necessary.
