Scale Hell Challenge! Do you know where your scale is?

Well do you know where your scale is? If so, then you didn't hide it very well. If you decided once and for all not to be a slave to your scale and join the Scale Hell Challenge get someone to hide that puppy NOW
If you think you will lose your mind trying it for the entire month then do it for 2 weeks or just one....
I don't have a clue where mine is and don't want to know... Come on, you can do it

One day at a time my friends

Take care,
Kathy

I asked my daughter to hide it so she did. I have not a clue where she put it. But I also told a friend of mine about the challenge and she offered to take it home with her. So I said ok. Well Saturday she comes by to get the scale and my daughter had to think for a while to remember where she put it.
Out the door it went. I am liking this actually. I feel like I'm focusing on the right things.
Like moving to lose!!!
This morning I did the Biggest Loser Workout 2 DVD. I did "Boby's boot camp" and "Kick Boxing cardio." I felt energetic and strong afterward! I bought a 5 lbs medicine ball and lemme tell ya. Those things are no joke. I also bought a stability ball and I got some gym clothes that actually fit! I have to beg my kids to take a pic of me in my new gym clothes because it's so nice not to wear overly baggy stuff to the gym.

Now that is too funny.. I too don't have a clue. There is nothing wrong with using the scale for tracking your weight loss and keeping you on track. But when you are on that thing several times a day or that scale is the end all for your life then it's time for a change

Focus on how you feel each day and how your clothes fit. And if you have not done so take your measurements
You are ahead of me girl, I am writing up the Move to Lose thread now
I love your passion for working out, trust me this will get you through anything. I love medice balls the kick butt with sit ups and girl, look at you???
You are running circles around us with your workout and what an inspiration!!Keep it going girl

Take care,
Kathy

And since I was on a "once-a-week" weighing routine, The bathroom was already "hidden" in a bathroom I do not use at all, in a far corner of my house.
I am doing well. Now if I only can control my portions and the type of food I eat all the time - I will be a winner. Because then I wont need a scale at all...(wishful thinking)

Try some of these suggestions, they have helped me in the past.
Portion control is hard, especially if you are traveling. If you have to eat at a Restaurant try ordering on the Senior menu. Don't mean to imply you are a senior, they have smaller portions.
Ask for 2 plates and put half of the meal on one plate and I hate to waste food, but pour salt on the other half so it can't be eaten. At home, use smaller plates, and have your scale, measuring cups and such right there on the counter.
Make a list of all the wrong foods you tend to eat during a day/week and then pick one a week to cut out. That way you won't go cold turkey and feel so deprived.
Good luck to you and be safe on your trip.
Take care,
Kathy

The food thing is challenging, but since I have a small fridge and a microwave in my room, it is good. Also a grocery store is just on the other side of a road (very busy, by the way) so I am set. I also brought my protein shakes (powder), snacks (beef sticks, prot bars, and other snacks) so I should be fine. Usually the airport are the worst for me since I associate them with sugary treats...(so bad for me).
So, with all of this - I can order food, ask for a "to go" box right away, then put away my food for later. Last night I had nice all green salad + salmon. I have the left over for lunch and more greens for a third meal (maybe a snack later on). I am really planning to be good.
So far so good... I survived a whole day travel day here with only 1 oz of peanuts that I did not planned to eat (still total for the day was 100 prot, 1150 cal - not bad), but the temptations were though to resist.
One thing that will stop me to be bad, that for some reason if I eat too much (more that 1/2 cup) or the wrong thing - I end up in excruciating back (what the heck???) pain, and light cramps. Maybe it is ulcer?, or twisted bowels? or dumping ? Since I had to go on a trip - I decided to just control that with my diet and see if that helps. The pain only comes after I eat, otherwise I would think that my back is bothering me again.
I am planning to walk outside, and hit the gym (they have one here).
Thanks for helpful tips. I need all the help I can get since business travel is usually very stressful for me and I had a history with emotional eating while traveling. This is my first long business trip since my surgery, so it is a challenge... keep me in your prayers.... I will let you know how I did,
