does anyone have ideas for quick and easy, high protein warm breakfast ideas? things i can make ahead or make the morning of?

i'm a big fan of greek yogurt and fruit in the morning, but since it's so cold here in NY, i'm looking for some options besides oatmeal and eggs. eggs get old, fast, and oatmeal is a tad carby. i'm sort of out of ideas, so OH help me out!

Make 'em on the weekend (3 days in fridge OK or Freeze and defrost in fridge) and Nuke or Toaster Oven reheat midweek.

I love your bites, and may have to make something like that next weekend. It's been a while since I've made any. But lately, I've been "egg"ed out, oddly.

Can you use Egg Beaters instead of regular eggs?

I eat regular full fat everything so I'm not sure but they work like regular eggs would right? So I would think they would be fine. I can't be responsible for how it tastes with 'em LOL.j/k

Let me know,

instant oatmeal with protein powder and milk or soy milk microwaved for 3 minutes, stirring between each minute.

You can sub malto meal, grits, cream of wheat...And for a nice kick, if you can find it, TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein ) or Soya Granules...Sort of nutty.

A 3rd cup of instant oatmeal, 1 quarter cup of Soya Granules and a cup of soy milk and you're getting 30 grams of protein for breakfast AND it's hot...yummy too with butter buds and equal or splenda.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I was wondering - I visted that site you spoke of - are you using the plain TVP without reconstitution?

Unflavored TVP is a great crunchy topping on yogurt or SF pudding. When you put it into oatmeal, you reconstitute it with the soy milk and cook it at the same time...It really doesnt' need to be cooked but it softens it up..

It really depends on what I'm using it for, actually.

Not sure if you eat tortillas but when I'm egg'd out I'll make a breakfast quesadilla out of a wheat tortilla, some kind of cooked breakfast meat (for me its usually turkey sausage or turkey bacon), cheese, and then whatever else looks good in the fridge (mushrooms, tomatoes, salsa,  onion, green pepper).  I just cut the tortilla in half, put my fillings in the middle of the 2 pieces of tortilla and then spray a skillet and warm everything through.  You could do it in the toaster oven if you have one.....or even in the microwave (but the tortilla won't get crunchy like I prefer).

I usually prep everything the night before so it just has to be thrown in the skillet in the a.m.....I need easy stuff in the a.m.!

Good luck and enjoy!
