Butt Nub

I swear that when I had my WLS the surgeon also grafted a nub onto my tailbone so that I wouldn't be able to sit still for very long.  Other than the result of occasional acts of eating stupidity and a wee bit of constipation now and then, the only real discomfort I have had is chronic irritation of my new butt nub.  Over the years, many things have chapped my ass, but nothing comes close to this experience!  From time to time people have told me that I am a pain in the ass, but I never felt insulted until now when I know what that really means.  Sorry for the rant, but the butt nub is aggravated and I have to sit at my desk all day with no way to even give it the stinkeye for ******g me off.

I hate to laugh, but you are pretty darn funny!

Sorry about your nub, though! My back hurt terribly for a few weeks after surgery, but no nubs growing.

Can ya sit on a pillow at work? Cushion the nub?

Hope your butt feels better!

Hugs to your butt?,
Heather  =)

I am so with you on this.  I have bones in my butt that I never knew were there!   And yes sometimes sitting is indeed a pain in the a**.  I also have rediscovered my hip and pelvic bones and sometimes bump them now that they are not as well padded and am sore for days and have had bruises in places I never had them before!  Rant away Darlin'(and maybe get a great seat cushion for your chair!).

LOL!!!  I have no butt nub but what a great way to start the morning.  And I don't mean to be laughing at your pain because I am sure it is uncomfortable.  I just loved how you wrote about it.

Thankfully I do not have that problem.  My ass is still phat.  Sorry to hear that you're having the trouble though.  I know a lot of folks who have had that.

Boy do I agree with you!!  Between the butt pain and being cold 24/7 it's been my only rant so far!  wooden chairs are the worst!  So..."from one pain in the ass" to another I'm with you!!

Yep, I have the same problem.  I never carried much weight there to begin with so when I lost weight it bothered me.

Mine doesn't hurt and the only time I'm aware of it is when I'm driving so I put a cushion in the drivers seat and it solved the problem.

If it really bothers you, I know it can be removed.....lol  I'm guessing sitting on a cushion would be a better way to deal with it though.

butt nub....that's funny  :)

Same here. I lost my butt - I have a flat butt.  I hate that.  I had to improvise when I decide to take a bath. My tailbone hurt.  I have to take a pad into my tub, or else (really painful)

No sit-ups for me on hard surface (ouch..) I have a pillow in my car (car has leather seats) and the pillow has a cut-off for a tail bone.

I am planning to buy a donut rubber pillow, make a nice cover for it (with a handle) so i can carry that with me whenever I go if I expect hard seats.
When I am invited to my friends for dinner - they put a pillow on the seat for me... (great friends)

Mine was so sore for months after surgery.  When I read this, I realized that I don't have this problem nearly as severely as earlier out.  Not sure if I have learned to sit differently so not to aggravate my butt nub.  I have heard of my surgeon giving a cortisone shot to some patients to relieve the inflammation around the tailbone.  One or two of these shots over a few months seems to do the trick for most.  Something to consider.

Two butt problems here:  sore tail bone AND skin pinch.  Sometimes loose butt skin folds over on itself when I sit down and hurts like hell 'till I adjust it.  Thanks for listening.
