Clothing insecurities. What would you wear now that you wouldn't before.

 And would you wear this if you were me?





Was doing a little window shopping with my 11 year old daughter.  Saw this and loved it!  It's pink and gets darker on the way down.  Kind of a rayon fabric.  So pretty!  I would NEVER wear anything like this before.  It's a size 10 and tight enough up top to not have to wear a bra.  But I still felt so exposed.  Not sure if it was because I was bulging out in some spots or what.  I loved it, but I don't know if I'd have to guts to wear it out anywhere.  It's just one of those types of dresses that I always wished I could wear and now I almost feel like I can, but I don't think I can! kwim?  I showed my daughter and she shook her head no.  I'm half thinking that she's just not used to seeing me in things like this.

Do you have any clothing insecurities?  Am I wrong to think I might be able to pull this off?  Or am I hanging out too much?

I think you look good!  Your arms look great!   Very cute dress.   You dont need a bra.

My biggest insecurity post-op is my arms. I dont have loose skin otherwise. I am amazed by some here and their bravery to sport their wings.  I would be mortified.  Plastics next summer!  Until then, you will never find me in anything sleeveless.

Thanks! I always say my arms look ok if I keep them by my sides. LOL! Lifting and bending shows the flab and extra fat. They aren't super bad though and I've spend so many years being troubled by my arms that I'm to a point of just saying - what the hell. I'm gonna wear it!

You should wear it because Im not seeing any 'troubled' looking arms! :)

I think you look awesome,  love the dress. Pink is one of my favorite colors. You should definately wear it out it looks great on you.

I would wear it.... it looks great on you!! I like tube tops now and never even considered wearing them before surgery!

LOL.... I bought a strapless bra! No way would the girls be swinging free! The first time I wore one was when my avatar pic was taken..... I felt horribly exposed! Now, I love them!

I have the opposite problem-- there's things I happily wore at 368 that I can't now-- sleeveless blouses of any sort, swimsuits, corsets and lingerie-- it all looks like crapola. The skin landslides out every hole. I'd fall out the top of your dress.

Yeah, I'm thinking I might raid the change jar and like a little kid in a candy store - throw all my change up on the counter for the sales lady to count. LOL!

Interesting about what you would wear before but not now. But that skin is not long for this world.... the count down is ON! and in a few months I want to see some corset photos lady!

I find myself much more daring with clothes, and sometimes I feel like I am trying to hard kwim? And my loved ones often seem unsure but like you said I think they just were so used to my sweatpants etc that it takes them a back....but at work where people didnt know me "fat", I get tons of compliments on my wardrobe so, I dont worry too much! LOL

You are totally rockin' that dress!!!!  I would definately wear it if I were you.  I wore a strappy little sundress this weekend, and, yes, I was a bit concerned about my arms, but my friends didn't see any problems and I got tons of compliments!!!  So.............. GO FOR IT!!!!!

Yeah, I'm thinking we are more self conscious about ourselves than what people are actually looking at.

Boy, after this thread I am so tempted to run back to the mall and claim my dress.
