RNY'ers that are Maintaining! CHECK-IN
I lost allot of muscle post op so I work out 4-6 x's a week, what I have found that's not that hard (as far as huffing and puffing) but still kicks my rear is Yoga, I do it once a week. I have the cd by Bob from Biggest Looser, I think it's called Weight Loss Yoga and it kicks my butt and is really putting definition on me and I don't have to count reps and get bored doing the same thing, although now that I think about it the tape is the same thing over and over...hmmmm I guess I don't mind watching others shake w/ me. That must be it LOL!
I do fitday every few weeks just to check in and make sure what I think is on track really is. I eat anything I want, but start every meal w/ protein. I do drink alcohol, actually that is my biggest problem, when I drink I don't want to stop. That does have me concerned at times, but I try to keep it in check just like everything else.

I hear you on the drinking. It is my coping mechanism and I like who I am with a couple of glasses of wine. I am fairly uptight and rigid by day, but once I loosen up, people really love me, including me.
It hasn't added weight because I tend to forget to eat when I drink wine.
I'm there with ya, about forgetting to eat, I also fitday my cals for my drinks :), so I'm not loosing allot, but I'm not gaining!
Something to try if you like liquor is crystal lite type powders.....my fav is the target brand, strawberry, orange , banana w/ captain morgan ! You can also do lemonade and vodka, cherry pomegranate and vodka, the options are endless LOL!!!!
The only caution I can give to people is to be careful, you can go from feeling good to DRUNK so quickly you don't see it coming. One morning my hubby said "did you finish that wine last night, you were pretty drunk" and we looked in the fridge and I hadn't had any, the effect just got stronger w/o drinking!!! So do be careful. And NEVER drive, I've read that we can blow really high with very little to drink.
Cheers,

I LOVE that CD, and the best part is that it can grow with you. It has 3 sections, so as you progress you add on w/o needing a new cd!
Good luck,
Edie
PS: If you haven't drank much post op read what I wrote about drinking above, it can catch up with you really quick, and transfer addiction is a huge reality! I never got drunk like I do now, I used to be able to drink all night and never get drunk, a nice buzz yes but never drunk, now I know my skinny friends weren't faking :)!!

I dunno if I am maintaining or not, but I am learning from you guys. I have been between 172-175 for the past couple of months. My body fat percentage is 27% and still dropping but since I am not losing weight I can only venture to guess that I am gaining muscle to make up for the loss in fat.
Unlike you Crystal, I started weight training early but have slacked off in recent months. I was starting to look hulky and I didn’t like that. I want to end up with softer edges, if that makes any sense at all.
I do eat more carbs, not necessarily to make the weight loss “stop" but because I crave them. Like everyone else, I stay away from the white stuff and my ratio of calories is still protein heavy (I’m a tracker…always will be!).
Unlike others, I can’t necessarily trust my clothing size as a barometer for what I am doing. I am notorious for shrinking out of clothes while not losing weight and busting out of them from eating a few too many bites of Fiber One. I get fiber bloating really bad.

I am ready to start maintance, been increasing the cals and carbs ( About 150 daily) the last few months, thinking about lifting weights. I am a little weaker I think, but not to much, I would just like to build some muscle to help keep my weight stable and to maybe give these arms some more firmness! A little bootie lift would be nice too :) my mom told me the other day I have no ass left.
I am hoping when my hubby is home form his deployment ( 3 more weeks!! YES!!) we can start going to the gym togther, at least while he is on block leave.
Thanks for sharing everyone!!
