I'm approaching (in just over 20lbs) my 100lb down mark.  This is a HUGE milestone for me and I want to get a tattoo to mark the occasion.

Any ideas??

Thanks :)

Maybe a butterfly?  When I think of a butterfly I think of something beautiful that has been set free.  That's kind of how we are...trapped in our bodies and the weight loss helps set us free to live normal lives.

Okay, this is probably kinda corny, but how about a butterfly coming out of its cocoon. BTW, How did you like your Dr. I'm meeting him on the 17th for my pre-op surgeon meeting.

He is very blunt.  And very serious.  But he did a fantastic job.  My surgery took less time than planned and my incisions were great.  Thin lines and short.  No infection.

The first thing he said to me when he sat down at our meeting was... "This is serious.  You could DIE."

But I liked him a lot.  I felt lucky to have him as my surgeon. :)

I like your way of thinking! I plan on tattooing the knobby things at the end of my collar bone, once I find them...

A tattoo should be something that calls to you, and that you won't get tired of. You can go to TattooJohnny and search through thousands of designs to give you an idea.

Ouch! That sounds painful! I have a tatoo on my inner ankle and everytime it hit that bone, OMG... Good luck!

i knew of someone who tattoos money on her to signify the weight lost- so when she lost 150 lbs she had $1.50 tattood on her (a single and quarters or whatever).  she knew what it meant but really no one else did unless she told them.

Oh, that's cute, I like that--the money...different. =) Like a buck fifty....=)

I guess it depends if you want others to instantly know what it means or not...

If you want it to be secret....maybe an item that weighs 100lbs? In my binder(which is in my car right now) I have a list of different items and what they weigh... I can check the examples tomorrow and let you know what they list for 100lbs..

But, if you want a more obvious representation, maybe a dumbell with the number 100? Then, you could add one for other milestones....

Great idea to do a tattoo--good luck and congrats on your upcoming milestone! You're awesome!

Hugs, Heather =)

I was having this same conversation with my best friend tonight! I have been toying with the idea of a tribal band of dolphin's leaping thru waves around my ankle.  I agree with the other poster that it should speak to you.
I love dolpins, I love being able to be more comfortable on my jet ski, swimming in the Hood Canal, etc.
Web site searches are great inspiration...my last tat was inspired by a web site...my son tweeked it for me a bit.

Good luck on making a decision, and keep me posted!

when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing, I plan on doing it after my TT.  I just need to figure out where and what.  I like the butterfly idea though.
